This is a story about a girl, named Mia She grew up in suburb of medium sized city There were cold winters, and hot sticky summers Mia s favorite seasons were spring and fall She enjoyed the mild seasons, but also loved the vibrant colors each possessed Mia loved music She didn t just love it, she sat on the floor in front of her Casio stereo for hours at a time, recording songs off the radio Then she would cue them up and make sure she only got the music as she recorded them on a second tape, without the DJ s voices on them, just the music Then she would listen to those songs absorbing the words as she sat in her room and wrote her poetry She wrote her first Poem when she was thirteen It was called Sands of Time When she was sixteen and again when she was eighteen she won two state competitions for her poetry Her Poetry was stories of roses, starry nights, love, loss, and the scars left behind She found recourse in those private moments filling notebooks of her writings As she grew so did her inspirations, and when ever it hit her the rest of the world melted away until her verses were written, alive in the world Even today as Mia writes mostly YA fiction, poetry still holds a special place in her heart Her love for all things words propels her forward in her pursuit of the next great story Her Debut Novel The Ocean will be released this spring.

    1. You would think with an appealing cover and equally appealing blurb, that the book itself would be well written. I'm sorry to say that Something More is a horribly written book. It's apparent no professional editing or copy editing has been done. I noticed this within the first few pages. The heroine is supposed to be an 18 year old college freshman, but she acts more like a 13 year old, whining brat with a personality of a wet noodle. There's also non-stop info dumping and internal musings that [...]

    2. Good Lord, where to start?Seriously. I'm not even kidding. Oh, would you look at thatAfter reading the first chapter, I could tell that this wasn't going to be worth it. However, I wanted to give this book a fair shot, so I continued reading. The cover is lovely, but the inside is a hot mess. There's no nice way to say this book is bad. The writing itself is disjointed and not very good. Also, it's poorly edited. If you're going to put your book out on the market for people to buy, then it needs [...]

    3. *Warning! This review is for guys only! Women not allowed**Shudder*That was my involuntary reaction after agreeing to read Mia Castile's YA "Romance", `Something More'."How do I keep getting myself into these things?" I asked myself, sighing dramatically.I had never read anything by Mia Castile before, so I wasn't really sure what to expect. She seemed to have a good reputation as a writer, andyou knowe is a Hoosier!Knowing that I didn't fall within her target market, I nonetheless dove into the [...]

    4. Something More totally BLEW MY MIND! Man have I never ever read a book where the male character was one I wished I could jump in the book and kick his tush. Then to make matters worse a few chapters in I was cheering for him. Dam that author she is a master of all things wonderful! She knows how to take a book and bait you just enough that you keep reading and then you are HOOKED like a fish caught on a line!Something More is a story about a girl Nyla who has just graduated from high school. She [...]

    5. /author_blog_Hater-Head**Disclaimer: This blog post is in no way an opportunity to bitch and moan about poor reviews. This is not an attempt to slander any other author. This is a statement of facts, and my perspective. I leave it to you the competent reader to decide what you will do next.**Something More was intended to be a fun light read; a one-sitting, leave-you-feeling-warm-inside read. The only thing it ever was, was a novella. I had no idea it would be as popular as it has been, but I am [...]

    6. Something More is ranged more around the New Adult area. Based on a girl named Nyla, and her new life as she begins college is like a fresh and new beginning. And what is supposed to be a new start, leaves her with heavy shoulders. Nyla figured that she could leave everything from her high school days behind her and with an all new look, she starts college only to find that people from her past have followed her. Things still go well for her as she begins a new relationship with Ethan. Now, for [...]

    7. OK, so I'm a glutton for light, predictable, cute, fluffy, romantic reads. This one wasn't deep, meaningful, or mind-blowing. There were no fancy twists or tricks; it wasn't full of poetic, literary prose that struck me with awe. It was just a simple, enemies-to-friends-to-lovers story, but it made me smile, and my heart was swimming with contentment until the very last page. Jameson was endearing and sweet. We see him transform from boy to man, and Nyla was also very likable. No raunchy, steamy [...]

    8. I was honored to be given an ARC of Mia Castile's Something More.I enjoyed it so much My words wont do it justice. To summarize the story Nyla goes off to college in Chicago in hopes of a new start. Her nemesis Jameson ends up following her and somehow working his way into her daily life.Something More is a story about falling in love, righting wrongs and learning to forgive. When I first started this book I was already enthralledwho doesn't want to see a person's high school tormenter turn a pote [...]

    9. “You told me when you went to college, you were going to have a fabulous life with a charming, cute boyfriend, and he was going to spoil you with jewelry, and love you, and share all his secrets with you. You said you would carry them with you forever. I laughed at you because I didn’t believe you. I couldn’t imagine high school at that point, let alone college, but you always had your dreams and your plans.” Nyla looked down at the box in her hand. “Open it,” he encouraged her. She [...]

    10. I really enjoyed reading this book. It was a light and fun read. Saying that, some of the things that Jamison did to Nyla was kind of cruel but then he more than made up to her when he realises his mistake and what she meant to him. I really enjoyed Nyla's character as well, she is not the typical girl that makes you cringes or says something that makes you feel nagging or annoying. I quite like her as a character, she is strong, and understand what she wants for her life. Although she did not a [...]

    12. This was the worst book I've read this year. The phrase "Never judge a book by its cover" has never felt more apt. It looked lovely and the blurb was nice, but it was wretchedly written. I want my 2 bucks back.

    13. This was such a lovely easy read. I did feel bad for Ethan because I felt like he was being strung along by Nyla. But I am so happy that Nyla ended up with Jamison. I kind of hope that Ethan gets his own book, I would definitely read it.

    14. Writing was very disjointed. A lot of grammatical errors. Didn't feel all that deeply for either character. Too predictable.

    15. 2.5 starsMaybe I went into this book with too-high expectations but this book was a definite "meh" for me. The blurb looked so promising and I was really looking forward to the grovel but everything that happened was just anticlimactic. I didn't like the love triangle and the h just kinda fell flat for me. It felt like she could never make decisions for herself, she had to let everyone else do the hard stuff for her. Not my cup of tea.

    16. Something More was a beautiful road to true love; when your arch nemesis becomes the one person you can't live without and all that hate you've been feeling is really just love in disguise. We all had a nemesis in high school, maybe a boy that picked on you far too much. Well, Jameson is Nyla's bully. She finally feels free from the immature constraints of high school and as a college freshman she can become the person she's destined to be. Until Jameson pops back into her life, of course. Nyla [...]

    17. I loved the premise, but it did not work for me.It felt off. First the writing was too wordy. The author gave (TOO) many detailed descriptions about everything!! (loc 37). Then I did not need to know that the heroine brought her DVD player and boom box to college. (loc 39) Why did the reader have to know the color of her toe nails and when she painted them??? (loc 53) This took away from the story. It is as if the author wrote every single thought that came to her head.I can see where the author [...]

    18. So like I said in my update it a hate/love/hate and more hate relationship. This book starts out with Nyla moving away from home to go off to college. She is hoping for a new fresh start away from everyone back home. A wk after everything is going so well she has started her new school, classes are great, she's in a study group, New job. all until she's at her favorite coffee shop and runs into Jamison. He was her nemeses from back home they have known each other since middle school 7 or 8 th gr [...]

    19. I like the simplicity of the cover. It's not that extravagant, but the photo is really nice. The girl is cute as well, so I was quite disappointed when I read that Nyla has the long brown hair and bangs, so not the girl in the picture. At least they should have made it match. I was really hoping Nyla would look like the girl in the cover. Also, How is Nyla pronounced? Is it "Nayla" or "Nila"?Just like the cover ,the story is simple. Very straightforward and I would categorize it as a feel-good s [...]

    20. i just love a good romance and this one was much better than good!! I noticed a few typos and there are no steamy sex scenes, so some readers may be turned off by that but I thought it was definitely well worth the read! Nyla and Jameson are 'unfriends'. The younger siblings of best girlfriends, they get stuck together all the time when their older sisters hang out. Nyla's beautiful but kind of shy and on the nerdy side. Jameson's handsome and popular, with girls lined up waiting for their chanc [...]

    21. I just got done reading the most disturbing novel I have ever read. Before taking on the sequel, I decided to make the decision to recover by reading something lighter. Alas, I decided to read Something More. This specific love story sure didn't make weak in the knees or make m fall inlove with the main guy, but I did enjoy it. It was pretty funny and cute. The whole love/hate relationship really doesn't get old. However, one downfall wad when they switched between characters. I usually love tha [...]

    22. Such a cute book. It's not deep and full of meaning. Regardless, it was fun to read and I just loved Jamison. He's such a misguided sweetheart. For the entire time I was reading it, I wanted to both kiss him and smack him upside the head because of how ridiculous he was being and not realizing how he really feels. As for Nyla, I liked her too and I understood how she felt about Ethan and the entire situation she was in. Not that I've ever been in her situation.Like I said, this book was entertai [...]

    23. I've read this book three times and I just realized I haven't yet reviewed it.Let me start by saying that I'm a sap. & a true sucker for love stories. I'm not sure if this author didn't have an editor, or what. but aside from the spelling errors, the comma splices, the certain errors in paragraph play, and the twice misplaced consonants of a semi-supporting character's name, I have nothing to complain about. It needed serious polishing but outside of the grammar world, the story was adorable. [...]
