Blake Karrington is than an author He s a storyteller who places his readers in action filled moments It s in these creative spaces that readers are allowed to get to know his complex characters as if they re really alive. Most of Blake s titles are in the South in urban settings that are often overlooked by the mainstream But through Blake s eyes, readers quickly learn that places like Charlotte, NC can be as gritty as they come It s in these streets of this oft overlooked world where Blake portrays murderers and thieves alike as believable characters Without judgement, he weaves humanizing backstories that serve up compelling reasons for why a drug dealer might choose a life of crime Readers of speak of the roller coaster ride of emotions that ensues from feeling anger at empathetic characters who always seem to do the wrong thing at the right to keep the story moving forward. In terms of setting,Blake s stories introduce his readers to spaces they may or may not be used to streetscapes with unkept, cracked sidewalks where poverty prevails, times are depressed and people are broke and desperate In Blake storytelling space, morality is so curved that rooting for bad guys to get away with murder can sometimes seem like the right thing for the reader to do even when it s not.Readers who connect with Blake find him to be relatable Likening him to a bad boy gone good, they see a storyteller who writes as if he s lived in world s he generously shares, readily conveying his message that humanity is everywhere, especially in the unlikely, mean streets of cities like Charlotte.

    1. After reading the reviews and speaking with other readers this book came highly recommended, eventhough it was a freebie for me this was just an okay readere were a few page turning moments but there was no real character development. You were introduced to Q, Van, Tee, June El, Tim, Terri and OmarThese were all people that consist of The CrewAlthough Q really cared for his family which was The Crew and made sure that come hell or high water he had their backs. So many things was just not realisti [...]

    2. Great story line. I enjoyed my dude Q. Man on how he did my girls; lesson learned, the grass ain't green on the other side, left to good ones to only get caught up by the wrong one. Ha!

    3. I didn't really care for this book. It had too many characters, bad dialogue and the story is redundant. I thought it would be better because of the reviews.

    4. Country Boy was an awesome book. I am currently reading the sequel and can't wait to see how the ladies handle things. I wonder will the PG Crew get out and handle up on things? I guess we will just have to see. This ia a must read. This book has a little romance, murder, and betrayal all wrapped into one. I really couldn't understand Tee and Van at first, but if they like it then I love it. Those women were some real ride or die chicks. I'm also glad that Baby Rasta and Inga was on the team han [...]

    5. I read the reviews and it seems that everyone loved this book. I thought it was ok. First off, everything happened so fast. Most people think this would make it a page turner, but it disconnected me from the storyline. When I got involved with the characters that was experiencing the drama, BAM it was over.which leads me to my next point. There was NO CHARACTER development. We were introduced to Q, Van, Tee, June, Tim, Terri, and the rest of the crew but there was no background information that t [...]

    6. Country Boy! Wow. Well this book had me on the brink of tears. Kudos to the author because I'm a loyal fan now I had other books on my list to read and I purchased country boy on the spur of the moment but now I can't wait to see what happens in part 2 Q is a whore. Lol, but dang does he know how to treat a lady, lets see what Van and em' get poppin. I don't even talk like this, but this book took me there! I hope part two is available for download NOW. Pick it up, you will not be disappointed. [...]

    7. I loved this book it was real and it touched on a variety of subjects that are still prevalent today, sharing a man murder betrayal, drugs violence etc. The main character Q certainly loves the ladies and it shows in the hood/street/gangster life that comes with the territory. I love the way the story was told and am anxious to read the sequel to see hoe Van and the ladies of the PG crew handle business also I am eager to see Asia I went from stripper to lawyer gets hers U am sure she is going t [...]

    8. Q, big ol sexy corn fed Qlol! This was a fast paced, action packed book about the drug boys down south handling their business. Q is the leader of the pack, a well respected and well known hustler who is torn between a childhood love who has been down with him since day one and Tee the educated diva he thinks he needs in his life. Q will face many trials and tribulations in business and love! There was not a dull moment in this book! I loved it. Part 2 was just as good and I am waiting on pins a [...]

    9. I read this book and I was hoooked. I read this boook in some hours and wanted to know what was going to happen next. It is 1 in the morning when I downloaded Country Boy II. This is a good book so far. He better watch himself because he does so muahc dirt that it will catch up with him. The woman are teh best part of the book. You have all types of woman that make up the man but this man just can't get enough.

    10. Even though I support this author this is my first time reading any of his work. I was a fool to wait this long to read the book. I loved this book from beginning to end. It held my attention with all the drama going on. Q was a plain cheating and so called family guy to Van. Van didn't deserve all the cheating that Q dished out that's the only part that I regretted in the book. If you looking for a book book pick this up.

    11. I don't usually get into that Urban books But this one was very interesting to me for some reason. I immediately went to country boy 2 and was upset that I had to wait for a country boy 3 to be released. I don't think I would follow all of the other types of Blake Carrington books but this series worked for me

    12. WowWowThis book was great. Q has his handful with some many women. He should know that too much of something will make you slip. I like how his girl handle him with his other women she is what I call a ride and die chick. I'm glad he was trying to get out but it called him back in because family is everything. Read part two already.

    13. Very enjoyable read! I love a novel that has a sexy male character and Q was defnitely that. He was handling his business in every way! The book is filled with drama, action, and a lot of country hood flava. It was good!

    14. What was county about the bookI liked the plot and how the book played out. I didn't understand the title. .Q didn't seem or act country to me. it was a good read and I did enjoy it.

    15. I think the book was good but it was just at fast pace the whole book it didnt let u know the chacters in the story but other then that i will be reading part 2 cause i wanna know what tee & van gonna do.

    16. Wow!Wow!I thought that this book would drag out but it didn't! It was pure fiyah!! I loved it from beginning to end!

    17. Country Boy was good from page 1 i love it so full of action and drama. I didn't want to put da book it kept me on da edge of my bed. I give it five stars.

    18. I loved this series of books and all the love going on in it this author did an amazing job and this book is a 5* hands down

    19. If you haven't read the Country Boy trilogy then you don't know what you're missing out on There's really no explaining how good ALL THREE books are You just have to read then for yourself!

    20. Good readMan these women in this book put up with some stuff I could never even imagine!! This writer has an imagination out of this world.
