    1. 3.5I got to meet Jody at the insanity that was the RT Convention in Kansas City. I know her time there had to have been as crazy as mine but she was a nice person to meet and I really was happy to get an email from her shortly after we both arrived home. She was nice enough to give me the chance to read Florida Heat with the hope of a review and didn't expect me to be anything less than honest with my thoughts. What would you do if the life you thought you were living had a major secret behind it [...]

    2. She kept my attention throughout with well-drawn and intriguing characters, deftly interwoven plots and a real sense of place (and temperature!). Her characters' conversations are especially well rendered, colloquial and very believable. The plotline has several different layers -- love, betrayal, the seedy element in disguise, all beautifully orchestrated to keep the reader guessing until the end. The love scenes were tropical as well. Very steamy! This book gets right to the point in both actio [...]

    3. Another of the books I borrowed through Overdrive, the online library. Another romance (I'm on a romance binge right now) and a pretty good one. This book has a main character who experiences the shock of finding out her husband of only two years is involved in criminal activity and that it puts her safety at risk. She divorces him, moves from Texas to the Florida Keys where her family has a vacation home. She finds work and starts to build a new life for herself. She meets a fascinating new man [...]

    4. Jody Vitek has succeeded in giving us a good love story with action and drama in Florida Heat. The hero is luscious and we pull for Maggie to get her man from the beginning. Add to the mix a villain you love to hate and you’re going to keep turning the pages. This is Ms. Vitek’s debut novel and I’m looking forward to her next book.

    5. 1.5/5.0The book started out well, with a lot of action, and a woman who is strong enough to start over when life takes a bad turn, but it went downhill from there. Read full review in the 2013 May issue of InD’tale Magazine.

    6. Loved the book. It was fun that Jody included many favorites from Siesta Key. Can't wait for her next book.

    7. I loved the setting in sultry Florida which really set off the characters so well. This book had a nice mix of suspense, intrigue, and romance - against a beautiful backdrop of a working ranch and interesting characters that were worth caring about (and a couple that you just want to punch in the face!). It was a quick, enjoyable, passionate read. Try it, you'll like it!
