    1. An amazing book I Really enjoyed it so much. Late night reading. Unexpected twists Keeps you guessing. A must read for Amish fiction fans!

    2. This was a great series to read. I was fascinated by the Amish lifestyle. I wanted to kick a few people in the teeth, my heart broke and I laughed.

    3. Ephraim and Miriam have been promised to each other since sixth grade. Ephraim is attracted to Miriam because she is not only the prettiest girl in the district, but a Pastor's daughter from a "perfect" family - and being and looking PERFECT is very important to Ephraim. When circumstances prove that Miriam's family is not without blemish, Ephraim makes marsh demands upon Miriam and eventually terminates their relationship, shattering her very person. In an effort to find herself again , Miriam [...]

    4. One of those books you do not want to put down. I didn't even wanted to finish it. So many plot twists and turns, it kept you guessing! I loved Seth's character. He was just passionate and loving. Miriam made me want to pull out my hair at first but her character arc was absolutely beautiful! Well done!

    5. OH! That man makes me so angry I could…I could……maybe I need to practice forgiveness — as the Amish do.But hold on, wait just a minute!…I’ve let myself get lost in another story, haven’t I?Yes, I admit I did. And Jennifer, please don’t think badly of me, because I must confess that last night, while staying in a hotel — with my granddaughter in the bed across from me asking me to please turn out the light — while I tell her, “just five more minutes, honey”… “four more [...]

    6. Miriam's Quilt is the third book in the series Forever After In Apple Lake. This was my first book of Jennifer Beckstrand, but it will not be my last. I received a complimentary copy of this book from and the author. This is a very good and well written book. Mrs. Beckstrand did a very good job with her characters. She will make you laugh and cry. I started this book and did not want to put it down.Miriam Bontrager and Ephraim grew up together. Miriam has loved Ephraim for as long as she can rem [...]

    7. I don’t know if there was a hidden message in the first two books of this series that I somehow missed or not but there was definitely a message in this one: Don’t judge a person without knowing their full circumstances.Miriam’s Quilt shows us that a person is like a book in that way – they can’t truly be judged just by a look, by one meeting or one incident or one conversation.I will say this too though, Jennifer Beckstrand seems to enjoy throwing in at least one character that we lov [...]

    8. Received the book for free through First Reads.Amish story about a proud minister daughter, whose family is facing certain misfortunates. Due to these "bumps" in her life she gets dumped by her intended and her family is now the gossip of the town. The only person that is kind and understanding is Seth the boy turn man that she was too proud before to be seen with. The story is well written and fast paced. At the beginning you noticed that certain words are spelled differently because of the ami [...]

    9. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED IT! Even though this book was 3rd in a series, you don't really need to read them in order. After reading it, a thought dawned on me. This was almost an Amish modern day version of Pride and Prejudice, where the main character would be like Jane Austen's Darcy. She is from a better family, and she and Seth have these preconceived opinions of each other. The characters caught my attention and were believable. Watching their characters evolve was inspiring. I would recommend th [...]

    10. First I want to say thank you as I have received this book through giveaways.I thought that I would have a hard time following this book where I haven't read book one or two but I was proven wrong. This book grabs you right from the beginning and does't let you go till the very last page. I loved the characters and recommend this book to anyone who likes Amish fiction books. Now I will go back and read her first two books in the series.

    11. This my favorite of the three books I've read by this author. It was a great escape when I needed one. A friend just said to me that books are cheaper than a psychiatrist. So true. Sometimes a good story is just the thing you need to relax after a busy week.Once again I enjoyed learning a little bit more about the Amish community. I also love that it talked about quilting, which is something that I also enjoy doing.

    12. Magnificent story!! I enjoyed this one more than any in recent memory. The characters were so real, I could have touched them, or slapped them for their obtuseness sometimes! I had read the first 2 in the series shortly after they came out, but got stuck on a wait list FOREVER for this one. I know there are many authors of Amish books, but as I am limited to books thru my library, I have no access to many of them. I may have to start rereading series, just to get my fix of Amish!!

    13. I received a complimentary edition of this book. I have always liked Amish based books. However, I would have to say that Miriam's Quilt is one of the best Amish books I have read. It had me hooked from the first page to the very last, and even then I was wanting more on the life of Seth and Miriam. I would defiantly recommend this book to readers who love the Amish style of books. I have to say I am sad to see it come to an end.

    14. This book carries with it many unexpected surprises. The characters are well developed and experience some very real and relevant joys and heartaches that life can throw our way. It draws you in right away and keeps you there. I enjoyed reading this so much that I definitely plan to go back and read previously writings that I've already missed out on!

    15. There is something about how Jennifer Beckstrand writes her books, that makes me not want to put it down till its done. Its one of those things, you can't wait to finsih reading, but at the same time you know once you do; you've got to find another author to read. I can wait to see what comes next from these writer!

    16. I have to admit I have never read Amish fiction before or I never thought I would. I am very happy to tell you that I was pleasantly surprised and glad I read this one. The characters were well developed and it kept you guessing. Recommended :)Book received from First Reads Giveaway

    17. 4.5 stars. I initially started reading this series because my husbands cousin is the author. I have really enjoyed it, and I think her writing has gotten better with each book. Never thought I'd really enjoy an Amish romance novel, but there I go being proven wrong again! Can't wait for her new series to start coming out as well! This was the 3rd and final book in her Apple Lake series.

    18. Miriam's Quilt is my favorite Jennifer Beckstrand book. It's story of forgiveness and redemption is compelling. I also appreciated the efforts to tackle the difficult subject of mental health challenges in Christian culture. While it may not be as powerful as Nelson Mandela's story, it's fun to read and has a great message about not judging others, forgiveness, and pure love.

    19. This is the first book I've ever read about a romance story with the Amish. Starting, I had my doubts but I was really surprised. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it. The author did an excellent job. Many thanks to the author and !

    20. WOW!! I loved this book!! This is my favorite of the series. I laughed and nearly cried reading this book. What a great story about not judging others and being forgiving. What a great book, one I stayed up late reading and didn't want to put down!

    21. I loved this book and would almost give it five stars, but Rebecca's Rose was so clever and it should stand out. Anyway, this is a wonderful story and I am just sad that the series is over. I will be reading her next books for sure and hope she keeps writing forever!

    22. And now I'm sad. This is the last one. I want another story! This is such a wonderful story - not one you would expect from an Amish community but since they're human too, I'm sure it happensExtremely well-written. Bravo Jennifer!

    23. This is the third of Jennifer Beckstrand's Forever After in Apple Lake series. They are all so fun to read, clean and simple. I loved it.

    24. I've loved all 3 of the Apple Lake series. I cried. I laughed. I yelled at characters. This book DID NOT disappoint- at all. <3

    25. This was a light, easy read. Not terribly thought-provoking, but great for the beach. Good characters, decently paced plot.

    26. I enjoyed the book, it was well thought of and written. First time I've read this author and look forward to reading more of her books!
