    1. Interesting storyline. I felt Raven was wrong with her actions. Val's response was unexpected but turned out better than I had anticipated. Good read

    2. We read this book in our African American Fiction Book Club and it was interesting to see how everyone would react to the decisions that best friends would make. Val and Raven grew up together and were best friends. Once Raven tells Val that she is in a relationship with her 21 year old son, Val vows to get revenge. I could only shake my head at these two women. They are in their mid 30's and somewhere along the way they forget the little rule we are taught very young to use our words. Instead o [...]

    3. What a hot mess these people were! But I couldn't stop reading it because I had to see the outcome of this train wreck. The good news is, they all found love, but not without much drama and inflicting emotional (and physical - I can't believe these grown women were fighting!) pain on each other. The person who upset me the most was Raven because she tried to keep the baby from his grandparents. Not cool and extremely immature. Marquis really stepped up to the plate in a way I didn't expect.Overa [...]

    4. Reality of BetrayalLong time best friends, Valerie Boss and Raven Singletary, are closer than blood sisters. When Raven reveals that she’s engaged to be married, Valerie contemplates who the groom-to-be is. It’s not long before she finds out and their sisterhood quickly unravels.Being separated from her best friend, Valerie is semi-depressed. When Stanley invites her over for a card game and dinner, she decides it beats sitting in the house. She finds herself enjoying the evening a little to [...]

    5. How would you feel if your best friend of 25 years told you that she was going to marry your adult son? Would you say love and let love or would you be ready to beat that broad down? lol. In Turnabout is Fair Play, we meet Raven and Valerie. In the beginning, Raven drops a bomb on Valerie. She is engaged to Valerie's 21 year old son. Quite naturally, Valerie is LIVID! I mean, seriously, who wouldn't be? Now, Raven knows better and because of their friendship is scared to death to tell Val. Not t [...]

    6. What would you do if your 38 year old friend fell in love with your 21 year old son. For Valerie Boss, that's what her childhood friend Raven Singletery did. So for payback, Valerie starts to date Raven's 59 year old father, and drama and sparks are all over the place. If you like drama, and this story had lots of it, you will enjoy the read.

    7. A page Turner! This book held me captive from beginning to end. My mouth stayed open because something new always came out. My initial thought was some bridges you just don't cross, but then I had to ask, can you really control who you fall in love with?
