    1. Very well written and researched. This was a blogger I followed on Tumblr and she knows her herbal lore like none other. Now please note, this book will not give you recipes or a list of herbs to cure xyz.ead think of this as a primer. It explains the importance of living sustainably and also researching before using new herbs. Sandra gives basics on tinctures, poultices, teas, and the various ways to administer herbs, but pushes for caution and research the entire time. At the end of the book, [...]

    2. It should be noted that although this is titled as an herbal, it's not an herbal in the traditional sense. There is no list of herbs, identifications, remedies and so on. The subtitle of the book more accurately describes it: this is an INTRODUCTION text, but I still believe it serves an important purpose.I was following Sandra on Tumblr when she first began the process of creating this book, and I purchased it the week she announced it was published. Not only did I want to get my hands on it, b [...]

    3. This is a very good book for beginner herbalists or anyone who has an interest in herbalism and does not know how to get started. I'm already a bit of a gardener but now my interest in this area has grown and I'm excited to keep reading more about herbalism. This book was a great introduction. It provides an overview and tips on choosing herbs, how to store herbs, the different types of remedies used among herbalists, safety concerns and more. I'm especially happy that there were warnings and saf [...]

    4. I am an avid gardener. I however haven't grown herbs for medicinal use. I've been reading up here and there ( "Practical Herb Garden:." by Jessica Houdret and "Edible Native Plants of the Rocky Mountains" by H. D. Harrington" ) over the years. I've had a remedial knowledge of many of the techniques included in this book, and found the additional information interesting and helpful. I downloaded it on a whim, and am happy I did. The resources and bibliography are very useful too.

    5. the title is quite misleading - this is more a report on toxicology than an introduction to herbal life. in need of revision and expansion.
