    1. The beginning of the book was confusing in character development. I eventually had to write out a cast of characters to follow. Some ran throughout the book while others were interlopers. The women characters were mostly victims of time and location and environment. By the end of the book, I was able to relate to most of the characters. I look forward to reading the 2nd book of the trilogy.
