    1. So yes, I am a teensy bit biased being the author, but I do really really love this book ;) A few things you can expect to find in its pages Futuristic LondonA cute, if a bit awkward looking boy with scruffy hair A winter-themed ballMemory surfing (though it doesn't quite look like this)A few stolen kissesA cool water-boat-house-bus-thingSome crawling through sewersPretty hairstylesSecrets in the nightAnd the London Underground, hundreds of years on from now I can't wait to share this story wit [...]

    2. Here's where I start my review with a little bit of showing off: I worked YA LitCon 2014, and the moment I opened the box containing our special early editions of The Memory Keepers I swept one aside to hide for myself. The gorgeous cover, combined with an fabulous concept, made me desperate to read it, and I wasn't disappointed.I absolutely love dystopian fiction, and it's refreshingly fun to read a YA dystopia set in England, rather than in the ruins of America somewhere, and especially one se [...]

    4. This book was amazing I loved every page it was even better than the elites that I was not sure was possible so I hope that Natasha Ngan will write another book

    6. This was my first Natasha Ngan book and I have to say, I have a feeling she's going to be one of those authors where you just buy her books without knowing anything about them.Need to know:- The memories aren't erased, they're basically just 'recorded', and you can actually trade them.- The book takes place in 2144- We are dealing with a bunch of characters in this book; We have our two main characters Alba and Seven. Seven's friends Loe and a little girl called Mika. Alba's handmaid Dolly and A [...]

    8. I unfortunately did not enjoy The Memory Keepers. It was the type of book I felt like I'd already read a hundred times and I didn't enjoy the writing style. There was dual POV from the two main characters, Seven and Alba. I have to say, I wasn't a fan of either of these characters. First of all, they trusted each other way, way too easily. I have no idea why Alba didn't start screaming when she found a stranger, obviously there to steal something, in her house, ESPECIALLY since in this world, th [...]

    9. This is the second book by Natasha Ngan after last year's stellar 'The Elites'. While I didn't enjoy this one quite as much, it was still a pretty good read. I thought the concept for the novel was brilliant. Set in the future, it imagines a world in which people are able to store their memories. These are then either kept or traded as valuable commodities. They are even sometimes stolen by criminal gangs, which is where one of the main characters Seven features. I loved the idea of being able t [...]

    15. Title: The Memory Keepers Author: Natasha Ngan Genre: Romance, Sci Fi, Futuristic, YA/Teen Age: 12+ Rating: 3 out of 5 stars Summary:"No one can take your memories from you can they?"Seven is a thief with a difference - he steals downloadable memories from banks and memoriums to sell onto London's black market, trading secrets and hidden pasts for a chance at a future of his own. He makes sure he keeps some special stuff back to 'surf' himself though - it's the only real form of entertainment he [...]

    18. Being a fan of Natasha Ngan's books for a while, I have had this on my TBR pile waiting for the exact right moment to pick it up. And now that I'm reeling with love for different worlds and exploration, I knew I had to read it right away- it was brilliant!Natasha Ngan is always really good at tacking issues in society with her books. Her last book, The Memory Keepers, gave a great portrayal of all the racism and prejudice there is within any world, but I was also especially interested in the iss [...]

    19. After the success of Elites, I was quite keen to read another Natasha Ngan book. The Memory Keepers ticked all the boxes and I was really excited about the book. The Memory Keepers is set in a future London (yes!) where memory can be extracted from humans and stored in a external storage device. These memories can then me stored or are traded in the market for profit or loss. As this is a dystopian, we have the rich North side of London where the wealthy and influential live and the starving, dyi [...]

    20. Review originally posted on The Slanted Bookshelf. My Rating: 3 starsThe Memory Keepers really grabbed be with the first scene. We start off from Seven’s POV as he is breaking into the Whites’ house only to be caught by Alba. The scene ends with her realising he’s a thief and then we go back in time for about a day.The Memory Keepers is set in the future when memories are the most valuable thing a person has and people steal memories – aka skids – to sell on the black market. London is [...]

    21. Everything about this promised an amazing story: the future London, the enticing value of memories, and the absolutely heart breaking character stories. I flew through this, completely gripped to finding out the truth behind the Memory Keepers and what the deal was with Seven's past and how it tied to the memory trade. Told in alternative perspectives, it was as much Alba's story as Seven's, which, much like the fact that is wasn't immediately a romance, was refreshing; they both needed a friend [...]

    22. Review also posted to Words Read & WrittenWhy I picked it up:This book was sent to me from Five Mile Press in exchange for an honest review. My thoughts: My immediate thoughts within the first few pages is that this book is extremely descriptive, almost unnecessarily so. Every single movement is spelt out and as a result the novel got off to a pretty slow start. But despite the slow start, the world is beautifully built, so maybe the excessive description is good for some things. The picture [...]

    24. The irony. I can't remember what I wanted to say about The Memory Keepers. Look, it was a decent read. It chugged along at a fluid pace, the dual perspective broke up the plot in an intriguing enough way, and the concepts were enough to keep me reading. It was your typical dystopian fare, nothing to blow your mind (the memory stuff was pretty cool but the plot building off this concept was, at times, reduced to the star-crossed lovers trope which was a bit disappointing). THOUGH I SWEAR (sorry, [...]

    25. So this is Natasha Ngan's second novel, published a year after her debut - The Elites - and it is just as good if not better! I could barely express how incredible her first was but this is a very different book. If you've read The Elites, then you'll know the scale and cast of the story is big, really big (I still wish it had been split into several books). The Memory Keepers is much smaller and intimate and it focuses closely on the relationships that are formed. The writing is beautiful and t [...]

    26. I loved this book Scenery, characters, events they are all beautiful I really think this needs a sequence, to tell us what will happen this maqnificient characters A short summary: Seven is a memory(skid) thief who loves in South (poor section) of London while Alba is the only daughter of the Police Head. She has a hand maid, Dolly, who she loves dearly. Her mother is an ice queen, who treats her poorly. And Seven and Alba meets each other, a not-so-quick insta-love happens Then :) All in all th [...]

    27. Wow. Just wow. Ever since I heard of Natasha Ngan last year when I read The Elites I've always hoped that she'd write a new novel, a series maybe. And this book was amazing! By far one of my favorite novels ever. And I hope that Natasha can keep writing more of her amazing stories and hopefully become a well known author because she deserves to be. Well done Natasha for writing such a thrilling story packed with awesomeness and everything I look for in a novel.

    28. it was interesting to think about a dystopia set in the UK - many are set in the US or unnamed places but this was clearly set in London. The divide between rich and poor is something to think about even now in the present
