    About "Nia Forrester"

      • Nia Forrester

I live in Washington D.C Philadelphia, PA where by day I work on public policy and by night I read authors who move me, and craft woman centered fiction I like all genres and think nothing is too trivial to read, or to write about Relationships are my greatest obsession how they work, why they don t and what happens as they spin out of control, or come together perfectly When I don t write, I think about writing, and unpack my own experiences for things to write about And in the odd moment, when I m doing neither, I enjoy time with friends, observing popular culture and decoding what it all means.

    1. 4 STARS out of 5Genre: Contemporary RomanceI first met Keisha Crawford in Commitment and I disliked her character very very much. Okay, I lying I HATED HER. In Mistress I came to like her, pity her and root for her.Men with fuck you money…Keisha is a mistress, the side piece, the chick married men love to have sex with and lavish nice gifts upon before returning home to their wives. When her current sugar daddy unexpectedly dies she finds herself uprooted from the posh life her provided. Goodb [...]

    2. I may change my review later to include more but I don't want to give anything away. After reading "Commitment" many, rather all of Nia's readers did not like Keisha. So when I saw that Keisha had a book dedicated to her I damn near flipped. Tricks and mistress are not entitled to more than 15 minutes of fame. I always caution people on being too judgmental but with Keisha it was "almost" impossible not to be. I knew Nia could do the impossible but was curious as to how. The impossible was human [...]

    3. 11/09/2013 --Overall Rating = 4.5 StarsBook Cover / Book Blurb / Book Title = 3 / 4 / 4 = 3.5 StarsWriter’s Voice = 5 StarsCharacter Development = 4 StarsStory Appreciation = 4 StarsWorth the Chili = 5 Stars -- [$2.99 on ]I love this author. I was a bit surprised when she decided to give this character her own book. When you first meet her in Commitment / . She was an angry parasite. So, yes. I was surprised. This is considered a novella. At about 10%, I put the book down for a bit because this [...]

    4. I absolutely detested Keisha in the book Commitment by Nia Forrester I changed my mind about her in this book. I rooted for her because I got to know her, yes she did wrong before but this book was her changing and I liked everything I read. Keisha goes from being a girl looking for a man to take care of her to being a woman doing it for her self. She learned she was worth more than the few pretty things those old men could buy her. Jay was a character I enjoyed getting to know and I was surpris [...]

    5. In “Mistress,” Nia Forrester serves the first helping of drama early on. Keisha Crawford is a kept woman. Her latest “keeper” is Charlie, a man old enough to be her grandfather, but the youngest of Keisha’s recent string of boyfriend benefactors. Charlie doesn’t provide Keisha with a lot of cash, but he gives her things, to include $100,000 dollars worth of jewelry and a nice apartment (a kept woman has to be kept somewhere). But as the tale begins Charlie has dropped dead, and short [...]

    6. It is official. Nia Forrester has become one of my favorite authors, I will buy a book with her name on it, simply because she wrote it. One of the reasons that she has become one of my favorites is her uncanny ability to draw you into her stories, they then become your stories. Those stories resonate with you long after the story has concluded. Keisha was used to being “the mistress” and after the death of her benefactor, she was forced to come to terms with who she had become. Talk about l [...]

    7. Wowwwww! Ok, I was really prepared to not like this book. Something about the content in the beginning got on my nerves! I had to ask myself why? Well this is not an 'arm chair psychology' moment so Needless to say, I kept with it and I'm in love with this story! And have to go to the next part! The 'real-ness', I LOVE IT!

    8. As much as i despised Keisha in The Commitment.i absolutely loved her in this story!!! Seeing this different side of her was great! There is never any denying the chemistry between the characters in the stories she weaves. Nia Forrester please don't ever stop writing love stories!!!!-signed an avid and proud hater of love stories

    9. Finding youGreat story! I like how it ties in a character from another series. I also like the fact that K finds her way. I hope she continues on a path that leads her to true love, happiness, and J.

    10. Keisha's StoryThis was another good read by Nia Forrester. I never anticipated reading Keisha's story, but now I see it as one worth sharing and I look forward to exploring it more in the next book in the series.

    11. Rare gemNia Forrester is a rare gem of a storyteller make a character evolve from their flaws , to become aware and accountable for past mistakes, but still find hope and humility for the future not an easy thing to achieve.e did that.Nia, you're powerful with your creativity and imagination, and I see your evolution in your craft as well

    12. I hated Keisha. After Sean and Riley had effectively disposed of her in 'Commitment,' I had washed my hands of her as well. I figured she was a typical, groupie, hood chick who balked when she didn't get more than a one night stand. What she did to Sean was unforgivable. I still feel some kind of way about that. By her own admission, she's not sure she would have eventually come clean. With all that being said, I avoided reading 'Mistress' for a long time. I actually considered not reading it all [...]

    13. This is Keisha's story. I had almost forgotten about this devious sister. She was the person who nearly sabotaged K Smooth's career and marriage. If you don't know who K Smooth isyou are missing apart of the series Ms. Forrester has written. Great booksh up. (lol)Keisha has returned to NYC and is living far below who she could be. She is a kept woman and her patron has died. She needs to vacate her lavish apartment in two days. She seraches her alternatives and finds she only has one. back to he [...]

    14. Nia Forrester is just too much! I was excited about reading this book, but only because Nia wrote it. Like everybody else, I had no interest in learning anything about Keisha, and couldn't even believe that Ms. Forrester wanted/needed to write about her. So imagine my surprise when she took this most-hated creature and humanized her. I not only sympathized with Keisha, but actually understood her pain and humiliation, as well as her resentment of Shawn and Riley (especially Riley!). Now she was [...]

    15. So it took me over a year to finally read this book. I think I was angry with Nia for writing at story about Keisha. I mean really, why would I read a story about the tramp that tried to break-up Sean and Riley. But then I decided to download the sample read and let’s just say good things comes to those that wait. I fell in love with Keisha. There I admit it. She was not anything I thought she would be. Yes she made some bad decisions but she knew she wanted more for her life. In walks Jay. OM [...]

    16. Okay, so I hated Keisha. I mean, really hated her. After what she did to Shawn and Riley in the author's book, Commitment, I really and truly hated that woman. And I was prepared to read Mistress and continue to hate her. But you know, Ms. Forrester is so good at what she does, her writing is so phenomenal that she has me hating a FICTIONAL character because of what she did to other FICTIONAL characters. This is make believe and yet I find myself really wondering whether Keisha can redeem hersel [...]

    17. "SPOILER ALERT"!!!!!!! Okay, when I started "Mistress". I had no idea that this Keisha was THE Keisha, lol. My heart actually went out to her when Charlie daughter called her and gave her two days to get out if the apartment Charlie gad put her up in and she didn't have Ny money stash away for a rainy day. When I finally realized who Keisha was, I could see her not banking and saying money like she should have been with Charlie. I was happy to see her change into a better person and realized tha [...]

    18. We live and we learnWell, Ms Nia has done the unthinkable. She reformed Keisha from a scorned, vengeful, lying, conniving, willing jump off into a woman with regrets of past deeds, redefined life, the gift of trust, friendships, being a friend and the possibility of real love. A work in progress is what Keisha realized she was and learning from one's mistake is all anyone can do. Ms Forrester has the ability to put the Real on paper showing how we are more alike than we'd like to believe. She wr [...]

    19. After I started reading this book I realized it was the sequel to Commitment. I was already into the story so I didn't wanna stop. As soon as the author introduced Keisha to me I instantly didn't like her, and with the title of 'mistress' why would I? But after I got to really know her and read her story I started liking her more and more. The author writes this story with so much emotions you are forced to know these well developed characters. I enjoyed every single page of this story. It's off [...]

    20. I'm not going to lie, after reading "Commitment", there was no way in hell I was going to buy a book where Keisha was the female lead character. ButI really love Nia Forrester's books, so months later I finally relented and bought it. Still, I didn't read it right away because I just couldn't get over the fact Keisha was a protagonist in another book. Needless to say, I recently broke down and read it. To my surprise, I warmed to Keisha. This book takes place about five years after her foolishne [...]

    21. Initially I didn't want to read Keisha's story, because I didn't care for her from a previous story she was in that the author wrote. And now that I've finally read this story I have a totally different opinion of Keisha. What a difference it makes knowing someone's background. Now I'm hoping for better things for her. I have to commend the author for writing this story in such a way that now I have a soft spot for Keisha. There's something about Jayson that I like. This is a story worth getting [...]

    22. Now this is the Nia Forrester that I know and love. This was a thought provoking, mind tingling, damn good read. Once I was refreshed on what happened in Commitment I remembered what scum bag Keisha really was. She did a total 180 In this book. It's nice to read about a bad girl gone good. Jayson was just what the doctor ordered for her to straighten herself out. Nia knows how to tell a good story even in a small amount of words. I for one want a continuation of this story because I can see more [...]

    23. I put off reading this book for a few months because I thought there was NO WAY I'd like Keisha. I couldn't have been more wrong. I actually found myself feeling sorry for her and tearing up a bit! She's definitely got more growing up to do but it was nice to see that she is ready to leave her old ways behind. I'm glad I don't have to wait too long before the follow up story "Wife" is released - I can't wait to see what happens between Keisha and Jayson!

    24. Just finished reading Mistress by Nia Forrester and really enjoyed it. I like how she took a character we shouldn't like and peeled away the layers to reveal her vulnerabiities. Keisha may not always be the nicest person but we come to understand why she is so flawed and we want her to have her HEA, even if we know it's going to be pertty damn hard to get it. Already started reading another of Nia Forrester's novels. I'm a fan now! :)

    25. I absolutely LOVED this book! I rarely give a book five stars, but after putting it down and taking a breather, my first inclination was to give it my highest praise. It's one of the best books I've read in awhile (on a side note, it may have helped that I didn't know the main character's dubious beginnings as featured in a previous series). Look for an in-depth review of this book to come on my blog.

    26. The focal point of this book is about how Keisha lost her sugar daddy and her so-called "glamorous" lifestyle. Then you get the backdrop on how she met Jayson. I love Nia Forrester's work but Mistress and Wife should've been combined into one book. It should not have taken 163 pages to tell this story. I will be reading Wife next because I want to see how this story plays out.

    27. Loved it! My first read by Nia Forresterd I could not put this book downI want to read all her bookshoping they measure up to this oneI can't really give a full review because I don't have timebut just know that you want be disappointed!

    28. MistressGood read, although there were several mistakes and sometimes the sentences and paragraphs seemed to run together, but it didn't take away from the story. Would read the next book to find out what happens with Keshia and Jay.

    29. Beautifully written book. I would have read this book in a day but had other commitments. Another lovely book by Nia Forrester.
