    1. I am enjoying this series, I bought this book immediately after I finished the second book, I mean literally after I finished. I loved this book, it was my favorite. Mina finally shows some maturity not to say sure didn't have her moments. I was glad to see Diego back.

    2. "Italian Summer" by Maria Grazia Swan was a complete surprise find for me. Mina Calvi is the protagonist of this gently understated detective series. Coming home to Italy after a decade of asence brings up a lot of conflicting emotions for our protagonist, whose life back in California was also not without its complications.I don't know if it was the sunshine in my garden when I read it, my own background as ex-patriot or just the wonderful athmospheric writing style, but I was right inside the [...]

    3. Sweet Assignment. Deadly Assignment.Mina Calvi left Veneto, Italy for California when she was sixteen. Now, ten years later, she's back in her hometown. Three years previously, her sister Paola was murdered. Now, Mina is back to mourn the passings of family. When Mina learns the fate of Vittorio, a vibrant and caring young man from her adolescence, she shivers in apprehension. His fiery-tempered sister Lola informs Mina he fell from a ladder while helping the nuns. Coincidentally, he died around [...]

    4. A book which opens with, "The stench of death permeated the air", tells you whatever else, the author knows how to cast a baited hook. Moreover, having grabbed your attention, Maria Grazia Swan knows how to keep it.By the time I was a couple of chapters into 'Italian Summer', I was hoping that by reading the 'Mina's Adventures' series out of order I would not do either the author or myself a disservice. I need not have worried. The author is skilled in transporting her reader to the Dolomites, a [...]

    5. This was one I got when it was free on . I wouldn’t qualify it as a mystery really, maybe more suspense. Is there a category for when the main character whines the entire book? This is a 2.5 star read for me but I upped it since I came in on book 3. Maybe I would have liked it better if I had read the first two and it’s not badly written. I just didn’t care for Mina much.Mina has returned to her grandmother’s village in Italy to a) visit with Grandma’s grave, b) to get over losing Dieg [...]

    6. A fun no brainer and a quick read. The best part was I have been to those places so was a bit nostalgic! Italy is a second home and this author has captured the the people and the customs. A little murder here and there makes it interesting. Now what does Diego do????

    7. A good murder mystery.Enjoyed reading about a heroine catI am owned by a Maine Coon cat and I could see her trying to bring help if I was in trouble. Liked the romance and even though this book is part of a series it is very readable on its own

    8. In this richly imagined series, set in the recent past, Mina Calvi, an Italian-born woman, an immigrant to The United States, has to deal with some overwhelming events. Her self-deprecating humor and her friends, loyal to the occasionally clueless young woman, help her survive. The author has made Mina a refreshingly realistic young woman. Not a silly, kick-ass, one-dimensional character favored by so many publishers these days, Mina is a young woman who has yet to find her place in life. She is [...]

    9. In this third book in the Mina’s Adventure series, Mina Calvi returns to Veneto, Italy, the hometown she left when she went to America ten years previously. She has lost everyone in her family, and the love of her life has disappeared and is presumed to be dead. She has returned to her roots to ponder her past and gather courage to face a future that seems impossibly bleak. One of the first things she does when she gets there is visit the cemetery where the family crypt is. She takes flowers fo [...]

    10. Mina has returned to her hometown in Italy for a bit of a vacation, renting a professor's flat so she can think things through and revisit her past and gather courage for her future. This book reminds me of some of the old New England Azorean Portugese descendants I knew when I was young. The stories they would tell! So dramatic. And buried in that tale would be a nugget of truth. However, it would take forever to get there. This is the third in this series, and the author may assume you have read [...]

    11. Mina decides to travel back to her homeland in Vebeto, Italy. She has not been there in over a decade and is amazed at how much it has changed but has stayed the same. She is still morning the loss of Diego in her life and maybe this trip will get her mind off of him or will it? She goes to the cemetary to visit her grandmothers grave and bring her flowers. While at the cemetary she runs into a girl she went to school with Loredana Lanza and learns her friend Vittorio, Lola's twin brother, died [...]

    12. A romantic and character-driven mystery. In Italian Summer, Italian-born Mina Calvi returns to her hometown after having been living in California for ten years. She’s carrying a heavy heart; mourning the loss of both life and love. I think it’s safe to say that Mina is lost, adrift in her own life.Once back home in Veneto, Mina finds that not much has changed in the small town. She soon bumps into a former classmate and befriends her upstairs neighbor, Emilia. And, before she knows it, a fam [...]

    13. Italian Summer, Maria Grazia Swan: This is the third book in the series, and our girl is growing up. Once again Italian-born, California import Mina Calvi manages to get herself in more trouble than a virgin at a frat party. This time around she has lots of company, some new faces along with some familiar faces. Looking to find out where she belongs once and for all, Mina travels to Vicenza, Italy and the town of her birth. On arrival, she finds much the same, but also much changed. As usual, th [...]

    14. Review of ITALIAN SUMMER by Maria Grazia Swan [Mina's Adventures #3]Our feckless heroine is spending the month of June in a condo in her home town of Veneto, Italy, while the professor-owner studies at USC. Mina sees it as a time to spend alone, visiting her beloved Nonna (grandmother)'s crypt, leaving flowers, and strolling the town and marveling over its changes. She is quickly befriended by Emilia, retired attorney and owner of the building, a lady who always wanted to be a divorce attorney, [...]

    15. When Minna returns to her hometown in Italy, everything has changed. When she comes upon a friend of her grandmother's and shares the secrets of her parentage, Mina is happy. As Emilia joins Mina in unraveling the town's mystery, danger closes in on them. Diego re-enters Min's life at a very opportune time for all three. Maria Grazia Swan describes Italy its culture, & its people as only a native Italian can. This book makes me eager to read Mina's 4th Adventure. I highly recommend this seri [...]

    16. Twenty-something, Mina Calvi returned to her hometown of Veneto, Italy after spending ten years in California. She rented Professor Cervi's condo while he was taking classes at USC. Emilia Lauri, a semi-retired attorney lived upstairs and knew Mina's grandmother. And that was the first thread of the fabric that was woven into this small town mystery. The plot thickened around Mina's crazy friend Lola, her dead twin brother, Vittorio, Piero, the undertaker, his son, Enzo, and finally Diego, Mina' [...]

    17. The problem with a series is that you sometimes get just part of the story in one book, but as reader, you want enough background to enjoy reading the story you have in hand . In this case, Mina is anguished over an unspecified tragedy, haunted by an unrevealed family secret, and madly in love with a man who’s barely introduced. Still she meets up with an old school friend on a homecoming visit to Italy, uncovers a mysterious death, and prevents another. A neat mystery with a hint of more in t [...]

    18. This adventure set in Italy, in the foothills of the Dolomites, and the descriptions Has me longing to see it. Meeting an old classmate is a bad start for Minna's trip. Reminiscing with her landlord, an old family friend who she finds has knowledge of Minna's family secrets. Seeing Diego alive & visiting Italy opens up another town mystery. Can these three solve the town mysteries before they disappear too? That's the answer you'll find in this 3rd Minna's Adventure. You should read this.

    19. This was an engaging and charming mystery, full of interesting twists and turns. I didn't realize when I started reading this that it was part of a series. But it didn't matter that I hadn't read the previous books, this one had my attention immediately and I never felt lost. I really enjoyed Mina and her companions and the setting was so lovingly drawn it made me remember fondly my trip to Italy. Now I can't wait to go back -- to Italy and to the rest of this series, too.

    20. Love the visit to Italy but more the reunion of loversPoor Mins is off on another grand adventure but all alone. As trouble always seems to find her who will be the one to help her? As always I'm sitting on the edge of my chair until the end don't miss the first two books before this. Now I can't wait for the next book

    21. I can’t read this series fast enough and the author can’t write fast enough! I went on a binge reading spree through this series – such a fun escape! I can’t get enough of Mina and Diego and can’t wait for the next one. This series combines mystery and romance and interesting characters.

    22. This series is continuing well. I hope Mina and Diego meet again. I hope there will be more books in the series.
