    1. This short story reads like the beginning of a novel. While it is a shame that it doesn't go further, it is still a good read. I was impressed by the quality of the writing, although some elements were confusing. I hope that the author continues to write in this setting.

    2. Polly's no-account husband is gone and good riddance to him and his horrid plans for their two Syth little girls. Polly is a strong woman with plans for the future. Plans, that include staying under the radar on the strict colonial world of Celstar and making a quiet life for herself. 3. Cover update, please!I really enjoyed the world that Aires created for this short story, and hope that she continues writing stories set in this world. In a few short pages, without any info dump, Aires creates a space frontier world populated by conservative settlers, and interspersed with descendants of DNA experimentation, such as the Shimmers, or horse-shifters, and the Synths. I would very much want to read more from this author.

    4. This short story was such a tease! And not in that happy yea! way. The world building is wonderful. The romance promising and the secondary characters engaging. Then, wham. Irrational behavior and a sort of Happy for Now endingbut not really more like a mid errr stroke ending. Waaah. I really like this world and would love to see a full romance here.

    5. I have to say this book was very interesting I would have liked it if it would have had a prologue explaining what some of the things were because I had problems understanding what some were
