    1. I thought this was a great book to use for Halloween! The story line was interesting, involved puzzles and some mystery without being "scary" for young kids. I also really liked that the story led readers to look back through the book at the end to search for other pumpkins. The illustrations were bright and gave a perfect Halloween feel. Good addition to any classroom.

    2. This is an entertaining Halloween story that sends four detectives (with plays on literary detective names) on a hunt for eighteen missing pumpkins. The story offers clues along the way which children can help solve and the story is not scary. At the end of the tale, the culprit is revealed and the reader is invited to find the remaining missing pumpkins hidden in the various pages of the story. Overall, it was an engaging and humorous tale and we enjoyed reading it together. Our girls are becom [...]

    3. So, I took my son to the library for story time and decided, since we were there a little early, to read him some stories. I found this one on the shelf and, even when he lost interest and started crawling around I kept reading. This is a fun little book. I enjoyed the mystery and the way you could go back at the end and find the missing pumpkins hidden in the pictures.

    4. I'm a sucker for Halloween books! In honor of National Readathon Day, I HAD to read at least one from my favorite holiday. And this is a cutie. The missing pumpkins will have young kids playing along to solve the mystery. It's mysterious and Halloweeny, but without the fear factor. Shadows and nightime in the safety of great characters and a fun story. Well done!

    5. This is a really fun Halloween book. There is a mystery to solve and pumpkins to find. My daughter enjoyed going back to find the missing pumpkins at the end of the book. There's a lot of counting in this book so it's great for classrooms. Wonderful spooky but not scary illustrations.

    6. I work with special ed student's and younger children and they all loved this book. They were so intrigued on who stole the pumpkins that we had to stop half way through and talk about who they thought was the thief. Love this book and for sure will read them the rest of the series.

    7. Cute mystery book, that invites readers to solve the case and find the pumpkins. Good for kids who like I-Spy and similar books.

    8. Clever Halloween mystery picture book. After reading the book with the puzzle pieces, go back and look for the hidden pumpkins.
