    1. **** 4.5 Stars ****I must say, I almost gave up. One of my tinny niggles (coincidences) from book #1 came back strong here and I thought that was an unnecessary drama to add into the whole lot. But I need to give it to the author, because when I realized I was back inside the story. Totally drowning in theirs hopes and fears. GL is hands down one of the best MM writes in my opinion. She is such a brilliant story teller! The actual “Romance" stepped aside in this book. It was more like life thro [...]

    2. ***4.5 Stars***And here I thought the first book had put me through the wringer Compared to Slide the second half of Rare felt like tumbling in the spin cycle, but it did hurt so gooooood! ❤️The masochistic streak seems to be strong with me, so guess what? Yep, right on to the next one

    4. Ash has come a long way since his breakdown inSlide and he and Pete are in a really good place. They got a new apartment, with a rooftop terrace, closer to Pete's mom and things are going so well. The events of this book really test Ash's mental stability and the stability of he and Pete as a couple. I was floored by a couple of things that happened and we get to see just how strong Ash really is. Of course we already knew the strength he was capable of because he actually made it out of his chil [...]

    5. Outstanding!!!… book, cover, author… all Perfect! Garrett Leigh is an exciting, new and extremely talented author that I just can’t seem to get enough of, and I am so looking forward to seeing what delights she has in store for us this year, because if Slide, Bullet and Rare are anything to go by… we are in for a treat! At the end of Slide, I was desperate for more from Ash and Pete, and thankfully Garrett Leigh didn’t make us wait too long for the next book in the series. In the last b [...]

    6. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4! These boys are intense!I really loved Slide, the first installment of this series and I was looking forward to revisit Pete and Ash. They went through so much in the first book and I just wanted them to be happy. I knew that Rare wouldn’t be an easy read, that it would be difficult to see them suffer once again, but the glimpse of hope from the last book was impossible to ignore. I just had to know more. And I can only repeat that I love Pete and Ash; they are one of [...]

    7. If anything, I fell even deeper into Ash and Pete's story in this sequel. I felt like my heart was being ripped out, shred into a million tiny pieces, then magically put back together better than it was before. Wow. Justwow.

    8. *4,5 stars*Whey! Garrett Leigh certainly knows how to dish out the angst. And it is brilliant. And scary. And so well done.Yes, there are some coincidences here as likely as winning the lottery - but that happens, too, doesn't it?!I think the most awesome thing about Pete and Ash (and their story) is their belief in what they have together. And this "Strength," Pete said. "And faith. Love isn't always enough, and we've let each other down as far as trust is concerned. When things go wrong, you ha [...]

    9. Aún estoy dudando si subir a 4,5 o no, porque el epílogo me ha gustado mucho.Reseña completa cuando tenga un hueco.

    10. I love Ash. I love Pete. And I love Michael Lesley :) He's the narrator of this audiobook. His voice is perfection. Seriously, at times I felt like I was listening to audio porn, LOL. There aren't that many books that I feel are better when listened to instead of read, but this is one of them. Garrett Leigh continues to be one of my favorite authors.

    11. -4.5 stars-"You couldn’t change the past or control your future, but you could make the most of your present. Family had many definitions. What mattered was what it meant to us, and with Ash at peace in my arms, it meant everything."I know that Garrett Leigh does some serious angst, but Pete and Ash are the most tortured of her characters. But every time, they come out of it stronger and more in love than ever. There are some weird ass coincidencies in this book. In any other case, I would have [...]

    12. I've finished this series a week ago, but I still want to write a few words about it.First off, it might not be everyone's kind of story, but I got attached to these boys. Pete and Ash are both flawed characters, Ash is even more so. But I admired their strength and determination to save this special connection they have between them against all the odds. The way they both fought for their relationship was what made me love them so much. If the main focus in the first book of the series was on A [...]

    13. 5 Golden Shimmering stars from me, but if I could give a bucketful I would. . Garrett, your writing is so beautiful, I felt every emotion in this one, every tender caress, every hot kiss, every ounce of Ash's pain, the 'incident' in the story reduced me to tearsjust loved absolutely everything about it. Shortie review cos I'm now off to read Freed, but Ash and Pete together were perfection in this one. Mean, moody and magnificent!! I loved that finally Ash got to have some family, and yes, the c [...]

    14. Well,I don't know what to say I believe I was crystal clear in my review of Slide. But I'll think of something.

    15. Pete and AshUnFoRgetablE! AndI must say, the train eventok my breath away! *HIGH FIVE TO THE WRITER* you are goooooood!PN ANGST FILLED WORLD WORTH TRAVELING.

    16. *Currently Listening To*I am absolutely loving these books and the audio kicks ass! I'm around chapter 7 now. I don't get much time to actually listen so it usually takes me a few days if not at least a week to finish an audio.

    17. 5 stars I love this series. The end. I call dibs on Pete and Ash. An arc was provided in exchange for an honest review.

    18. 4.5 Stars. Not a huge fan of the many cosmic coincidences in the first half, but I was totally gripped in the second half, and the ending was simply gorgeous and perfect. Happy to say that after this overdue reread, Ash and Pete easily remain one of my favorite romance couples ever.

    19. 4.5 Tattooed Stars, YO.I should have known better. I should have known that my assumption that there'd be no way I could love these two more would be blown to bits. Yup, love Pete and Ash even more.Things pretty much start in where they left off in Slide, so there was no countdown, no revving of engines, no drag racing lights giving you a moment to gear up for this story. Nope, screw that! We're diving right in! I won't go too much into the story itself, so many reviews already speak of the inte [...]

    20. I love Ash and Pete’s relationship, I really like how their love grows as time goes on and how they trust each other much more after facing difficulties, but I could not enjoy their second book as much as the first. Coincidences happen a lot in their story; I wasn’t that much into the sister sub-plot, in the first book I could ignore the coincidence, but I wasn’t expecting it again! Actually I believe there was no need for this book, the first one was complete on its own.

    21. I lie here, slain, with tears in my eyes and sniffles scratching my throat. 'Twas magic. Full review soon, on booklikes and the blog.

    22. *4,5 stars*I have so much respect for Ash. Knowing what background he came from, what he endured He's so strong by surviving and also by taking responsibilty for his life more often now. I'm so proud. Hopefully he'll be more confident about himself in the future.favorite part;“You once told me your relationship was built around pizza,” she baited him cautiously.Pete snorted. “Did I?”“Yes, you did. I asked you on the phone if you could think about what you thought it was built around no [...]

    23. 3.5 starsSo this is the second book dealing with Ash and Pete as a couple and the aftermath of Ash’s mental breakdown. I think I went in to this with the idea that Ash and Pete would explore their romance more or have typical romance book issues. But that’s certainly not what I read, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing at all, just not what I was expecting. However, I probably shouldn’t have had any preconceived notions as Ash and Pete have a very special and strong connection, so the [...]

    24. Loved loved loved it! I couldn’t wait to finally read the sequel of Slide and man, was the story perfect. Gut wrenching perfect and brilliant written. Difficult, heartbreaking, full of hope, friendship, love and devotion. In Rare Ash finally has managed to overcome his self-destructive tendencies and he is now much stronger and able to deal with a special person from his past. At some point Pete is the one who needs healing and Ash does his best to help Pete through his pain and his depressions [...]

    25. Loved. This. Book.Ash and Pete went through so much since beginning - and finally they are at the point where I can just sigh happily and believe in their HEA. I've loved Ash since beginning - it's impossible not to love him. But I also loved Pete in this bookHis understanding, his protectiveness, his fascination with Ash - all resonated with me. And I easily forgave his behavior after the accident - he's not some robot, after all he's entitled to his own freak-outs. He was under so much pressur [...]

    26. 5 Ashtastic peterific STARSThere is just something so joyous in reading books where the 2 people FINALLY FINALLY find their HEA.I caught ever single solitary teaser that Garrett posted on Facebook before she released Rare. And she posted a pic of Joe. And internally and verbally I was like… “Joe! Pfst! He’s gonna cause problems between my two guys and leave me seriously pissed off…”WELL… DON’T I FEEL LIKE A TOOL CAUSE WELL IF YOU HAVEN’T READ IT, 1ST WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR! READ [...]

    27. Ash and Pete go through the wringer in Book 2. It turns out that the world isn't quite done messing with Ash. While some of the surprises are good, some of them knock Ash, Pete and everyone who loves them to their knees. Rare tells the story of men finding their strength with and through each other, even when it means walking away. The angst-o-meter was pinging at the top, but somehow the story avoided the cheese factor (almost. I'm not quite sure what to do with Joe and Danni. Also, Ellie, Mega [...]

    28. 4.5 starsI just love Pete and Ash.ough Pete can be a bit of a jerk sometimes.Their relationship is progressing well with Ash opening up and finally able to trust. Pete works too much and is always tired (and sometimes grouchy).A recurring face from Ash's past comes calling and brings lots of confusion and some closure. When tragedy strikes, and Pete is in trouble, Ash tries to be strong and pull them through.Great story

    29. These books are much better than my rating would indicate. They are well written, interesting characters and loads of angst. But I am cold hearted and I just couldn't get it up to care that much for these guys. Your mileage may vary.
