    1. A Profound Story of Faith in the Midst of Unimaginable Tragedy. Bill Harrison is a rare human being. At age 91 he still travels around telling his story and selling books. I had the honor to meet Bill and read his book. His story is so incredible that one of the production companies I work with obtained the rights to turn this story into a feature film.It is almost unfathomable that someone could go through what Bill did and live to tell about it. How Bill survives the extreme forces of nature, [...]

    2. This is a story that deserves to be told, to be preserved. I feel happy for the author that he has now had a chance, at age 92, to tell his story of survival and have it published for history, for posterity. He also honors his fellow soldiers who were with him on the ship that sank, those that did not survive. He honors their memories with compassion and dignity, and shares his faith through his story. Thank you Bill for your service.

    3. On September 16, 1945 one month after the first bomb was dropped on Japan, the YMS-472 sank in a typhoon off the coast of Okinawa.Six days on a Raft is Bill Harrison's first hand account of being on board during the sinking, how he and eight of his shipmates were able to pull themselves out of the stormy waters and into a small life raft. Sharks surrounded the raft and one by one, his shipmates that had been beside him for days in the life raft, slipped into the ocean due to dehydration and drin [...]

    4. I got a chance to hear Bill Harrison speak at an event in 2014. He astounded me with his wisdom and clarity as he recalled events that happened nearly seventy years ago with such clarity and purpose. Bill's story of survival is not just miraculous, it is inspiring. His suffering, pain and will to survive under such adversity is truly amazing. To read the account of his faith and survival is truly a blessing and I recommend this book to everyone, even if it is to simply understand that God is pre [...]

    5. "Six Days on a Raft" is an amazing story of God's providence in saving a group of sailors in post-WWii waters from the ravages of a typhoon and then six days floating on the sea with nothing but a life raft. Surrounded by sharks, tormented by hunger and thirst, tortured by the merciless scorching sun by day and freezing temperatures by night, and inflicted with hallucinations and insanity as the days wore on, five of the nine abandoned the raft, never to return. Bill Harrison, the author, was one [...]

    6. I was given a deluxe copy of this book through the First-reads program to give an honest review. The story of 9 sailors on a raft spending 6 harrowing days with no food or water was horrifying and inspiring to read. It is a story of a man's faith in God and his belief that his life was in God's hands to save or take. Bill Harrison lets us know his life story and the details of these six days that shaped the rest of his days here on the earth. The book comes complete with photographs and is soon t [...]

    7. I won this from a First-Reads contest.I enjoyed this book about his tale of survival. It's amazing what he went through. I am giving this book three stars only because I felt the book lacked polish in terms of writing. I think it needed to be edited a little bit better. Grammar aside, I did enjoy it and would recommend others give it a read.

    8. It was good but.a little to religious for me. I wish he would have talked more about the storm and being on the raft. I did love his memory tree. That was a wonderful tool for survival. The pictures were great as they put faces to the people in the story.

    9. It's difficult to imagine what these men went through. Mr Harrison, 70 years later, still becomes emotional when he talks about his ordeal. Incredible book, incredible man.

    10. Not feeling hopeful with what my final impression of this book will be. The actual "story" only lasts until page 129 with the remainder being mainly photos. That being said, I will plow through the remaining 94 pages of text. About halfway finished and I know unless this story pulls out an amazing ending, my review will not be favorable. The manner in which this was written is so beyond amateur, that it is detracting from what could possibly be a good story. The editing, redundancy, odd sentence [...]

    11. This story should be made a national treasury. Bill Harrison's survival account with eight shipmates on a small life raft in stormy and shark infested water, sun beating on their skins, thirst and hunger and the mental anguish. I heard of a story similar to his but to actually read it from a survivor, I have no words to express the courage and bravery it took to hold on. Who do you turn to when all your inner being is squeezed and deflated? I read how his faith in God overpowered all else. He le [...]

    12. Wow. WW11 was a time by itself that is surreal and hard to understand to many of us. Our men went off to war to fight and most did not come back home. This book is about a small group of survivors- 4 on a whole boat that managed to survive. It started with 9 on a lifeboat that dwindled to 4 over 6 days in the raging ocean against sharks, dehydration, no food, hallucinations, you think it and it probably occurred. Now in 2014, one person is still alive to tell us the courage and strength of what h [...]

    13. I received this book from Mr. Harrison after I lost a giveaway. (Thanks for sending me a copy!) This book tells the true story of Bill Harrison and 8 other men who found themselves overboard after a tsunami. The 9 men were stuck on a raft with no food or water for 6 days. This book tells of their experience (during and after) and of the faithfulness of God in times of need.
