    2. First of all I was taken captive by the cover - beautiful intense colors but in partial darkness. all is not it seems, leading into dark secrets. Inside the book I was also drawn through shadows of early 20th century slave trade from China to this hemisphere. Two girls sold, forced to leave their families, sent to another continent to try to survive.
