    1. "South of Reason" by the lovely Ms. Kendi Thompson sounds very interesting. The best part of it is that I get the pleasure of reading this for free thanks to First Reads and again the lovely author Kendi Thompson. Thank you both! Looking forward to it's arrival!Yeah it is that time! "South of Reason" has arrived and well worth the wait ya'll.

    2. I truly was not sure what to expect from this read although I did quite enjoy the book.It is an unusual premise for a setting within a setting really. Dreams and regression therapy are two things that have always held an interest for me and to find them both in this book was a treat.Perhaps one of these days I could try this myself, yet I am not sure if I would want such results as those that are presented here. Good suspense in a well told tale that comes across as all too familiar of that age- [...]

    3. Reincarnation in the rawSawyer McKinley doesn’t live far from the small southern town of Abbeville and suddenly he is having lucid nightmares where he is suffocating from thick smoke. He knows he is in a house that is on fire, but he can’t find his way out. Finally he wakes up terrified and sweating. The “sins” of the past from a small southern town plague the dreams of Sawyer McKinley. In desperation to free himself from these horrible dreams, he calls upon the help of Dr. Edmond, who s [...]

    4. by Kendi Thompson There's actually 201 pages I the copy I have, but sticking with what's here on the book page. Wavered a bit towards 3 1/2, but this one has me unsure so I up-rated to four as opposed to down-rating. Quick read, short chapters (I LOVE that, lol, because it makes me feel like I'm getting somewhere when I read as opposed to extremely long chapters). I was really happy to have had a chance to this!! Mystery, suspense, thriller, romance 'and' time travel in one book!?? Awesome becau [...]

    5. I received this book through the giveaways.I didn’t love this book, but I also didn’t hate it. The stories felt separate to me. They didn’t seem to have a real connection other than Sawyer’s dreams. It wasn’t explained what triggered these dreams in him, they just started to occur. There was not any mirroring of Sawyer’s life and Sam’s. This is why I felt their stories seemed disconnected. I enjoyed Sam’s story quit a bit. It seemed to me that Sawyer’s story was just a set up [...]

    6. The first few chapters of "South of Reason" by Kendi Thompson had me hooked! The plot of a person having dreams that took them back in time to solve a murder of an ancestor was suspenseful and thrilling. However, this book lost some of it's suspense once the character stayed asleep to finish out the dream. If the author had continued switching from dream to reality I feel it would've kept the suspense while the reader tried to piece together the story. I was underwhelmed by the ending and wished [...]

    7. I like books that refer to issues from previous times and sometimes still needing resolved. I think everyone has a time in their life when they feel they have encountered an incident which has happened before. I think we all have souls which are connected to other people. Some we meet in our life time. some not but there is a connection between us. I also think we may have all lived different lives as souls need time to become completely developed. We also have certain encounters to correct issu [...]

    8. This is a great storyline and I enjoyed it immensely. I think it is entirely possible that we are linked to others in the past and that regression therapy is a valid way of dealing with some of our issues of today. The characters in South of Reason are strong and well developed and I liked the setting in a small town in the south.Sawyer and his love from the past, Carrie, mesh well together and throughout the book you are rooting for them. Great read! Looking forward to Kendi's next book.

    9. This novel is a mysterious journey to a small Southern town in the 1920s. The town is charming and so are the inhabitants, at first. As the tale unfolds, the reader learns there is a dark side to the community. This read is suspenseful and entertaining. I'm looking forward to reading this author's next work of fiction.

    10. I received this book from the first reads program. Loved that it was centered around the late 1920's and in South Carolina. It completely kept me captive from beginning to end, wanting to know what was going to happen next and then when I reached the end, I'm sorry that it has ended. Would love it if a sequel could be written.

    11. I received this book from the first reads program. A gripping novel of retribution that can't be put down. I am unable to fully explain why I so thoroughly enjoyed this book. The main character is actually two main characters, both of whom want justice and peace, and the goal is achieved in a fascinating way.

    12. Kendi's book is a fantastic adventure that took me back to a gritty and flamboyant era of history. Her story was provocative and gripping from page one, and I couldn't stop reading once I started. Well written, with fluid descriptions and relatable characters. I would recommend

    13. Thank you good reads and Kendi for gifting me with this wonderful book. I don't really read suspense. But, I'm glad I read this one. I couldn't put it down. I really enjoyed it and look foward to reading more of your work.

    14. I always love mystery, romance and thrillers and in this story the time travel into the past. Finding the dark side to this charming community leads to the unfolding of the story of the inhabitants of this community and their actions.

    15. A short read that is somewhat suspenseful. Involves regression into a previous life which isn't really my usual cup of tea. I did like the suspense of the book.

    16. Great bookGreat bookthe last few chapters left you wanting this to last for ever cannot wait for another book written by this author

    17. Good book about the south and a man who explores another life in the 1920's. This story of another time in southern history will hook you from the beginning.

    18. I like the high concept time travel aspect of "South of Reason." The book has an interesting premise - the protagonist's dreams take him back in time to solve a murder of a relative. I also appreciate the author's depiction of the 1920's small-town Southern setting. The romance between Carrie and Sam was one of the best parts of the book. Stylistically, I would have liked to have seen more showing and less telling (exposition) from the author, and more character development. Overall, this was a t [...]

    19. Not a true time travel novel.Fast read , not heavy on the romance. The point of view became confusing at times. The plot heightened but it was like some parts were missing. I would try one more novel by this author.
