    1. Read It! You’ll Like It!Can two imperfect people with their own plans and agendas find the ability to set aside their own hopes and dreams to build a life together? Such were the questions facing Marie and Slade. The author did a wonderful job creating well rounded characters with believable struggles. The story also deals with the foster care system and what issues older teens face when they age out of the system. I also found myself wishing for a second hand store as unique as the one Deanne [...]

    2. I like to read Deanne Durrett's books--she writes contemporary Christian romances with a teensy bit of a twisty mystery in them and just enough tension to keep you guessing. The version I read had some typos in it, but Deanne assured me all that I have sent her will be fixed. Now to the book: Widow Marie Springfield is a successful entrepreneur with everything she wants except for a husband and children. Her husband died several years ago before they had any children. Now she longs for a man in h [...]

    3. I just finished reading The Perfect Blend by Deanne Durrett today. It is Book 3 of the "Ordinary Days in Myrtle Hill" series. Since I have not read the first two books, I would say it is a stand alone book. This book was amazing. Deanne kept me sitting on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what would happen next. This book made me cry with joy! This book gives you insight into love, friendship, the foster system, and adoption. It shows that if you truly love with God`s love you can overcome a [...]

    4. This Christian fiction pulls at the heart strings. The story of foster care is true. Having adopted two older boys that were in the foster care system, I can relate to the storyline. Chloe and Marie are a perfect blend. Slade's struggles are very important to the storyline. It is real to life struggles that happen in blending of families. There is not always a happy ending for aged out foster kids. The understanding of aged out foster kids is written very well with family love and romance. This [...]

    5. Having read the first two books in the series, this one did not disappoint! This is a sweet, clean read that captures your heart and brings out some of the issues of foster children, second marriages, and living life with regrets. The wedding between JT and Becca was more than I could have imagined and a perfect thought for those with children! This book wraps more around Marie's life rather than Becca's but fits into the series wonderfully! I look forward to the next book in the series! I was g [...]

    6. The story was fairly well written. There were some things that annoyed me a little bit about the characters. Marie was needy and naive, and Slade just wanted a woman. lol I wanted to shoved my hands into the book and ring both of their necks at times. jamiswords/review-of-t

    7. I really enjoyed reading this book. I had not read the previous books in the series and I didn't feel like I had missed anything. The book is a great stand alone book, but now I want to read the rest of the series! I liked the characters and I liked that she incorporated things in the book that are often overlooked in our society. I was given a copy of the book to read and review.
