    1. This a novella that introduced Fox and O'Hare. I wish I read this before "The Heist" as it gives GREAT background info these two.

    2. This was a super quick read because it is a short story that covers Kate and Nick's first meeting and the beginning of Kate's career. Even though it was written after this series started, it is a nice explanation of things to come. I've enjoyed the feel of these books. I like the characters, the action, the tension.ey are fun reads. So 4 stars.

    3. This was a good short story about how Fox and O'Hara came together. It fits perfectly with the series. A good little read while waiting for the next book in this series to be published.

    4. A short story that I should have come upon long ago! This book explains how Kate and Nick first met and takes us back to Kate's first days in the FBI.I enjoyed spending a quick part of my day with these two, "seeing" them as they were before they became partners and partners!

    5. I really like this series and will read every tiny story they produce, especially if they continue to be this good. Basically this is a short story, showing the original crime where FBI Detective Kate and con man Nic Fox first meet. Very creative robbery (seriously how do they think these up?) and a well-written story.

    6. Great short story to start off the series about how Nick Fox and Kate O'Hare meet. Nick is a sexy con and Kate is a new, tough FBI agent. Can't wait to read more!

    7. Nick Fox is after golden Peruvian relics. After being hired as security for the relocation of the relics, Fox hadn't planned on being paired up with FBI agent Kate O'Hare. She was as dedicated to keeping the law as he was to breaking it. Makes a story of high conflict. This a taste of the series makes me ready to dig in.

    8. Initial Impressions 12/29/17: This was so much fun! I loved seeing how Kate and Nick first met and how their outstanding affair got started. It was great to see the background and I just love the tone of these books. Happy to be able to read even more pieces of this story.

    9. Synopsis/blurb…….When rookie FBI agent Kate O'Hare meets career conman Nick Fox there's bound to be a sting in the tale.Fresh out of Quantico and looking forward to her first FBI assignment, Kate O'Hare is teamed up with high-end security expert, Nick Fox, to help protect a shipment of valuable Peruvian relics. Problem is, nothing is what it seems. Nick Fox is actually a con artist and he's about to play the shell game with special agent O'Hare in a high-speed chase with armoured cars, a few [...]

    10. Original Post 10/8/14 at fangswandsandfairydust/201 Audio Book provided by publisher for review. No remuneration was exchanged and all opinions presented herein are my own, except as noted. This fun short story is expertly read by Scott Brick. He is the absolute star of the recording with subtle voice characterizations and impeccable timing. His “acting” is not overdone; more like how the characters in a book sound to me in my own head. Kate’s cubicle mate is really well done — I think he [...]

    11. When I decided to read The Heist by Evanovich and Goldberg, I didn't realize that Nick Fox and Kate O'Hare's first adventure was preceded by a few prequel e-book only novellas. The Shell Game is a breezy, entertaining, fast-paced introduction to the adversarial relationship at the center of this series, between a suave, elegant, likeable trickster and the by-the-book FBI agent determined to take him down. The plot is thin, but as a fan of caper stories and films I'm not really here for an intric [...]

    12. THE SHELL GAME is the story of how FBI Special Agent Kate O'Hare and conman Nicolas Fox first meet.Kate O'Hare is a newly minted Special Agent stuck in her cubicle doing background checks. Nicolas Fox is in the middle of his latest con> the theft of a fifty million dollar Collection of Peruvian an tiquities. The pair collide when O'Hare is assigned to work with the security team guarding the treasure. She meets the boss of Intertect, John Drake, who's in charge of the transfer of the treasure. [...]

    13. What a perfect way to find out if I might like Janet's other work beyond Stephanie Plum (have read the first 3 and really like that series). And though this was a short story, it felt dense with excitement, humor, similes (mostly quite funny and tongue-in-cheek), and obviously fun flirtations. Also, despite being short, multiple scene and point of view shifts were used and handled smoothly and effectively.Best of all, the two main characters promised to be as much fun as Stephanie and Morelli. For [...]

    14. A small, tiny prequel. This one sets the stage for the rivalry between Fox and O'Hare. This novella describes why Kate O'Hare wants to catch Nicholas Fox so desperately. A cute filler between the books, how Evanovich and Goldberg set up the anticipation for their upcoming books with a small tid-bit filling in the backstory between Fox and O'Hare is a smooth and smart marketing gimmick, it help's keep the interest up in the books and around the characters.Anticipating the next release from the au [...]

    15. Con man Nick Fox is after Garson Klepper’s golden Peruvian relics. For Fox, convincing Klepper to hire him as security for the relocation of the relics to the Getty museum in L.A. was easy. Problem is, Fox wasn’t planning on Klepper also enlisting the help of the FBI. Fox also wasn’t planning on being paired up with rookie special agent Kate O’Hare. She’s smart, she’s tenacious, and when she’s conned, she holds a grudge. Life for Fox and O’Hare will never be the same again. The Sh [...]

    16. These stories where Nick gets the best of Kate bother me a bit. I hate how they make Kate look stupid because she isn't. Nick so needs to be taken down a peg, good thing it comes later in the series. It was interesting to see how Kate became obsessed with Nick.

    17. CuteThis is a prequel for the Fox and O'Hare series. It is the first time they meet. it's a cute little story and a quick read.

    18. Loved this story! How Nick and Kate first meet. Robberies, car chases, cons, and oreos. What more does a story need?

    19. The fun introduction of con man Nick Fox and rookie special agent Kate O'Hare.I look forward to more of those two!

    20. The Shell Game by Janet Evanovich & Lee GoldbergRating: 5 *****General Synopsis:This is the first, chronologically, novella in the Nick Fox & Kate O'Hare series. In this novella, we have Nick Fox, international con man, using the name John Drake, being hired to guard a shipment of Peruvian gold antiquities that are being sipped from Cleveland to the Getty Museum in Los Angeles. FBI Special Agent Kate O'Hare has been assigned to guard the shipment to keep it out of the hands of notorious [...]

    21. I am trying out the Libby app which allows you to borrow ebooks and audiobooks from your local library. In less than an hour I had borrowed a book, listened to it (it was a short story) and returned it. All for free. Woot. This is so so dangerous. But… to the book itself. It’s the origin story for Fox and O’Hare. And I must say listening is not a bad way to do these books. The shell game part involves four identical things *no spoilers*It has the trademark things: Kate eating and being pretty [...]

    22. Oreos are just the beginning The long lasting chase of Nick Fox by Kate O'Hare starts with this simple case that sets the stage for their future pursuits. It is simple, explains Kate's backstory well and gives us insights into the FBI's first encounter with Nick Fox. Was it a little too easy for the FBI not to background check Nicks Security Company. Chalk it up to overworked Gov. employees with to much paperwork to shuffle.
