    1. Interesting look at the secret places in some of the United Kingdoms stately homes and castles. Not sensationalist. The author explains what the mysterious passages and rooms most likely are, and even gives details about one of the foremost builders of priest holes during the Elizabethan period.Very interesting book.

    2. A most interesting book. There's more in Norfolk than just Oxburgh and Elsing Halls that has secret places etc. Gives details of various locations across England, Wales and Scotland but strangely not Northern Ireland which is part of Britain. Includes a fascinating account of how Charles II escaped to France after the battle of Worcester in 1651.
