    1. Trancing the Tiger was a breath of fresh air! Hooked from the first page, I could not put this book down and read it in just one sitting. The writing was smooth and flowed well and the fascinating characters kept me engaged and wanting to spend more time with them.I am extremely impressed with this debut author's level of talent and creativity. But the superb world-building, brilliant writing, and the unique storyline aren't the only things you will find in this novel. You will also stumble upon [...]

    2. I'm not entirely sure how I found this book it could be because one of my friends added it. But I sure am glad that I found it and read it.Brilliant Ms. Slate. This is different, original and an absolute breath of fresh air. From the first word to the last word it just sucks you right in. Ms. Slate has built a complex world, detailed with an strong solid plot. The characters are amazing be it the primary or secondary characters. I'm also proud to announce that Ms. Slate certainly has done her re [...]

    3. This was like a shiny new toy to me, it was a whole new take on shifters and their animal counterparts (is that the right word?) Anyway Sheng that boy is a passionate one, "Sheny growled and gripped her a** through the flimsy silk pants she wore." Also I think sometimes he makes a big deal out of his bruises just to make Lucy uncomfortable and see him naked, "clearly he was fine. More than fine. Sexy and naked and wet. 'Stubbed my toe." His mouth curved in a wicked, beckoning grin, one brow lift [...]

    4. Review Courtesy of April HollingworthThis is the first book in the, A Chinese Zodiac Romance series, and it is brilliant. It is a fabulous addictive start to what promises to be an amazing series. It drew me in and wouldn’t release me until I’d read every last wonderful word in the book. I can’t wait to read the next book.Opening Scene: Penang, Malaysia554 days since the first outbreak of the Red DeathI can’t let her die alone. The Review:Delve into a world steeped in tradition and supers [...]

    5. Absolutely fabulous! Engaging, riveting, sexy as all get out. on the edge of your seat Oy! If life wouldn't have gotten in my way, I would have read it in one sitting, I didn't want to put it down. I loved everything from the main and secondary characters, to the plot, and I will admit a bit of a paranormal snob. One of my favorite parts in a PNR is the scents that are explained, and they had heart at the descriptive scents. I wasn't sure if I could relate or understand it all, as I am not that [...]

    6. This is a love story with well-presented themes of loyalty, right and wrong, good and evil, with a hefty dose of lust and passion. The storyline and plot are what hooked me on this book. I like the paranormal idea of humans, sometimes unknowingly, hosting the Chinese zodiac spirit animals. Lucy is a strong character; she is certainly not a timid Rabbit! There is a surprising plot twist that I did not see coming at all, which is always a good thing in any work of fiction. The author did a very go [...]

    7. 5 stars and more ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review *This is no way influenced my reviewLOVED it!!! I'm going to start by saying that Li Sheng has made it into my Top 10 book boyfriends, I am very picky when reading and many times the hero does not make a good book boyfriend but Li Sheng has definitely made it. He is perfect! He is a strong character and he was very good to Lucy, our heroine. He is protective of her and very patient. The story is super awesome. There is a lo [...]

    8. I was gifted an ARC for an honest review. The thrill of discovering a new author with such talent is an amazing feeling. Trancing the Tiger had my attention from the first page. This is not a shifter story but something much deeper in the Chinese culture of the spirit animal. Sheng and Lucy's story is an exciting love story of two lonely hearts. In the Chinese culture of Chosen ones, Sheng, educates Lucy in bonding with her spirit animal, how to fight and protect herself and how to submit her Ra [...]

    9. A Review of Trancing The Tiger by Rachael SlateSexy Tiger meets Timid Rabbit - 5 starsThis was the first book that I have read by Rachael Slate and I loved it. Although I don't read a lot of paranormal books, this one caught my attention from the beginning. It was interesting to read about the traditions of the Chinese Zodiac animals. I'm not sure if all the information was true to today's world, but I do know that there are a lot of people that believe in the twelve animals in the Zodiac. The s [...]

    10. first off let me say I have no idea about Chinese culture But reading this book it has brought me a closeness with the characters to see how there body mind and soul make up a spiritual being. Lucy lived in San Fransico and comes to Malaysia to live with her Uncle after the Red Death has killed her parents. She meets Sheng (Tiger) a sexy hot alpha male ah yes he takes her breath away but he needs to teach her about herself and the animal that possesses her. Lucy also needs to learn who to tru [...]

    11. I first thought this was going to be a typical shape shifter book, but it not only had nothing to do with shape shifters it was like nothing I'd read before! Lots of action , great chemistry, Super HOT Alpha, what more can you ask for? Looking forward to the next instalments of this series.

    12. I loved this book. The characters, the plot, the location were all very unique. The hero, Sheng, was hot. Definitely, a keeper. One of those books that you will not easily forget.

    13. This was a novel take on the supernatural world. Rather than the usual shifters, we have animal spirits from the Chinese Zodiac, hosted within humans. We join the action in the aftermath of the red death, which decimated the worlds population. Lucy is a survivor from the USA, who sets off to live with her remaining relative. On her arrival she is met by a mysterious driver, who grabs her attention. We later find out that this was not her intended driver but the enigmatic Sheng. Sheng, host of the [...]

    14. If you love mythology, foreign cultures, passion and hot alpha heroes, then this is the book you've been waiting for.Rachael Slate has obviously done a tremendous amount of research for her tale of animal spirits and the eternal battle between good and evil. Inserting bits and pieces about the Malaysian culture that lend themselves to the feel of the story, she draws you into the world of Sheng Li and Lucy Yeoh while making the supernatural aspects of the story seemwell, natural. The characters a [...]

    15. This is one of those hard-to-put-down books that will keep you up past your bedtime! A shameless romance novel junkie, I absolutely loved Trancing the Tiger. It has all the elements I look for in a good book –- a yummy alpha male, a strong minded woman who challenges him, layers of intrigue that kept me guessing, and a steam level that ranks at…um…wow. You feel like you’re walking through the lush tropical jungles of Malaysia, and it’s because the author has actually travelled to the e [...]

    16. My favorite part of this book was the fabulous originality of the storyline. Not only was it set in a location that is uncommon for romance novels, but the idea of using the Chinese Zodiac was brilliant. I love shifter stories and all things paranormal, so I knew it would be up my alley, but I was drawn in immediately by how richly the author detailed the settings and by how sensually she set up the meeting between Lucy and Sheng. Their love story was hot and intense, yet it was believable. Char [...]

    17. I got an ARC of this book. Chinese Zodiac is something I know nothing about. This book was AMAZING!!!! It grabs you right from the start. Rachael tells the story in such a way that the characters grab you and just hold on. The Zodiac was explained in such a way that I completely understand it and could follow it through the whole book. The sparks between Sheng and Lucy were so hot I was waiting for my pages to catch on fire. All the characters in the book were written with a depth that made each [...]

    18. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. When I first started it, I was having a tough time getting into it and focusing on what I was reading. I haven't read too many "shifter" books and though this book isn't purely a shifter book, some of the characters do posess animals of the Chinese Zodiac. But once I looked past that, and looked into the "love story" that was unraveling, I loved the story. Sheng and Lucy were destined to be together no matter what. I love Mei too and can't wai [...]

    19. Oh my god where do I startI'm a huge fan of Mythology and love that the author has written about the Chinese Mythology and the Zodiac A throughly captivating story that was very difficult to put down with a mixture of action, drama, suspense and those oh so wonderfully written steamy moments. The storyline flowed really well with some brilliant writing and fascinating characters Sheng a true alpha Male and Lucy a not so timid little Rabbit, (Zodiac Spirits) that must learn to trust each other, t [...]

    20. Steeped in the rich mythology of the Chinese zodiac, this unique tale of magic and love carries undertones of a unique dystopian world. I recommend it for fans of paranormal and steamy romance.

    21. I got the book from the author and Paranormal Romance & Authors That Rock in exchange for an honest review.Trancing the Tiger is the first book in the Chinese Zodiac Romance series. I am happy to announce that Rachael Slate confirmed that she will be releasing two more books of the series this year! I guess that just by that comment you can guess what my opinion about the book is but I will say it anyway: I LOVE TRANCING THE TIGER! :)Trancing the tiger is a story about a millenary fight betw [...]

    22. ** This review was submitted to all rightful parties PRIOR to posting it to GoodReads. **When I was first invited to review this book I did so without knowing what to expect. All I did know was how much the synopsis I received appealed to the reader within me. So I leaped at the opportunity to review this material and by doing so I never expected to find such a unique an a winsome book as I did with Trancing the Tiger. There are a few, exceptional traits that I loved about this book. The first on [...]

    23. ****A gifted copy was provided by the author for an honest review***I found myself immediately transported into a world filled with color and fantasy. Of Light and Dark, of mystery and superstition. Lucy Yeoh goes to Malaysia to find answers to save her parents from the Red Death and while seeking the answers, she finds Sheng- her sexy Alpha of a next door neighbor. Lucy is one of those people who will go to the bitter end to get the answers needed and make things right. She is someone you want [...]

    24. This story is crazy! And amazing! I actually don’t read much romance (unless you count chick-lit, but then the love story is only about 50% of the story) and I’ve never read any fantasy stuff, so Trancing The Tiger was a whole new world for me. I loved the overall vibe, which oozed passion in a dark Asian setting. I found the descriptions seductive and imaginative, and from a technical perspective, the writing was exceptional, especially considering that the author is independent. All the cha [...]

    25. Let me say this is not my usual type of book, and I was a little worried when I received the ARC of this book that I wouldn't like it. I couldn't be more wrong. Not only is it a story of love, but also mysteryd it gives insight into another culture and their beliefs. Love Sheng and Lucy's story and can't wait for the next one in the series. Great job Rachael!

    26. I am not what you call the "typical" romance novel reader as I tend to read books on design and technology. This year I committed to branching out of my reading comfort zone and what better than to read Chinese Zodiac Romance?I have to admit that I really enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it to others. The story is compelling and the pace is good. Also, I liked the interspersion of zodiac mythos without falling on a long, rambling monologue. I was also glad to see that Lucy (the main [...]

    27. I loved this book. I have always reached for fantasy romances, and Ms. Slate did not disappoint. She created a vivid world facing a pandemic. The feisty heroine uncovers her destiny alongside a hero who is simultaneously larger than life and vulnerable. Lots of hot sex, but none of it gratuitous. I was pulled toward the HEA, which was believable and satisfying. I'm glad books 2 and 3 in this Chinese Zodiac series will be released in 2015.

    28. Trancing the Tiger is a great read and a definite page turner. A unique story that's based on chinese zodiacs with clever twists and strong, sexy chemistry between Lucy and Sheng. This book does a great job with the world building aspects as well as character development.Looking forward to the rest of this series. Definitely an author to watch!

    29. First things first: What a great book Trancing the Tiger is!!!I love PNR books, but strictly speaking, this one doesn't belong to the genre; it is more of a plunge into oriental myth and tradition, a journey into the mysteries of sexual attraction, a study in the univesal struggle for power. I'm impressed by this new author's debut novel for its flawless plot and totally captivating characters; both the good and the bad guys are well portrayed and feel 'natural' in their diverse roles. Which is [...]

    30. Amazing debut! I love paranormal/fantasy romances, well honestly I love all romances, but this is different from all the other books I've read. From the setting to their spirit animals, you will get lost in a world where the paranormal seems normal. I loved the relationship between the host and their spirit animal, as well as the way their animal's personalities and characteristics influence the hosts behavior. The chemistry between Sheng and Lucy is off the charts, and once they get together, y [...]
