    1. This is the first book I have read by this author. I actually thought the story was compelling and the characters were quite interesting. However, the execution was weak and took away from an otherwise powerful story. The author tried to cram too much into the beginning not allowing the story to flow naturally. As a reader, the timeline just didn't work for me. I was brought too quickly into all the past secrets, betrayals and revelations. Within the first 10 pages, not only are all the past sec [...]

    2. Too much, too fast. All tell, no show. No tension. Loved the premise, but there are just too many books on my tbr list to waste time with something that just isn't grabbing me.

    3. I've not read anything by this author before but I liked the sound of this. Ten years before Jake and Beth had been together and in love, that is till Beth was unceremoniously dumped. Fast forward to the present and the company Jake works for is taking over the company that Beth works for. So these two estranged people are about to come face to face for the first time in a decade. Both have been married, Jake is divorced and Beth a widow. Jake doesn't waste much time in the long overdue confronta [...]

    4. I found this book to be interesting. *SPOILERS*Beth was devastated when she found out Jake cheated on her, but Jake thought Beth cheated on him first. All of this was set-up by the other woman.10 years later.Jake and Beth meet up a again for a business merger. Jake is divorced from other woman and Beth is a widow. She was happily married for 8 years before her husband passed away. Jake finds out that OW set-up the lie and that he was an idiot. Beth didn't even know why Jake cheated on her. Jake [...]

    5. I read dozens of books better than this. But I always feel enchanted when I read this book (it's third time). Because of the way the male character agrees that he is wrong and he is sorry. Also, he do all that can for reconquer the woman who he loves. And, there is Beth. Her feelings, her fears to Lisa, are so real and so human, I simply couldn't avoid sympathize with her.

    6. Not a fan. The hero couldn't make up his mind if he wanted to love the heroine to death or manipulate her, pick one pal! The daughter was introduced too late. The villain was misused and didn't show up until the last chapter, she should have been reeking havoc all over the joint. The heroine couldn't make up her mind on anything and the hero came off desperate more that romantic. Skip.

    7. This book was a breath of fresh air! The H was truly remorseful for his terrible treatment of the h and the h made him put in some real work to get her back. Where, oh where, can I find more books with heroines like this?

    8. 3.5 stars rounded down. The pace of the story is fast, there is angst and betrayal and ofcourse a HEA but it was a little brief. The H is arrogant but knows when he is the one who let them both down. The h has spine but forgave too much!
