    1. With Book 3 coming soon, The Reach Between Worlds e-book has been made just 99¢ for the foreseeable future. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!Other books in the series:Why Dragons HideThe Stars That Form UsAll the Gods BelowSee my page for more details!

    2. I love books that catch you by surprise. I've been trying to slowly whittle away at my vast collection of books on my kindle (and I've been heartily abusing my KU inbetween) and didn't expect much from this book. However, it blew me away with its unsuspecting web of plots and the characters were all phenomenal. I can't wait to read more!

    3. “Bad men with smiles are the most dangerous kind.”'Michigan author Cameron M. Hayden, a young handsome new lad with a long-time love of fantasy and science fiction, makes his literary debut with the REACH BETWEEN TWO WORLDS and interestingly enough he has designated this novel as Book 1 of The Arclight Saga – reassuring us that he is in the business for the long run. And from reading his first entry it appears he has a solid start in the realm of science fiction/fantasy writing. In a very a [...]

    4. I really loved this. No spoilers here.Strengths:-Excellent villains-Well-rounded characters-Strong dialogue and narrative voice (No 'thees', 'thous', or old English. Which I hate.)What really did it for me were the villains -- Vexis in particular. She has a next-level crazy vibe which is really difficult to pull of without devolving into a generic Joker character. She can be mysterious, funny, and vicious all in the same chapter, and absolutely steals every scene she's in.One gripe I have is tha [...]

    5. This was a very fun read. I could definitely sense the influence of Patrick Rothfuss in Hayden's work, but the world and magic system were quite unique. I look forward to reading the next installment.

    6. The Reach Between WorldsI started this book on a recommendation from Nerdist and am I so glad that I did! I finished in a day or so because the characters, dialogue and world building were so well done and engaging that now I am sitting here again dying to get my hands on the next volume in the story! The author C.M. Hayden writes well beyond his years and his passion, enthusiasm and skilled hand at storytelling shine through and makes us yearn for more!Thank you C.M.! Please More!sean

    7. AmazingA great book from young Master Haden! Very well put together. The book has a great magic system. Characters are very real and likable. Can't wait for book 2!

    8. My original The Reach Between Worlds audiobook review and many others can be found at Audiobook Reviewer. The Reach Between Worlds by C.M Hayden is the first book in the series called The Archlight Saga. Taro’s parents are really sick and so he must resort to unsavory dealings with a crime lord to try to make some money to afford their medicine and to support the family.  As a part of this, Taro and his sister are suddenly thrust into a complex plot that starts with Taro and his sister enterin [...]

    9. Actually about 4.3 stars. Pretty excellent. Review to come.---Update, review:I originally bought the ebook because I’d heard it described in terms similar to The Name of the Wind (NotW) by Patrick Rothfuss, which is a beautifully crafted fantasy novel. After taking a long break from reading at about 25%, Hayden provided me with the audiobook version, which is what I’m going to review. The worldbuilding of The Reach Between Worlds is, at first, alarmingly similar to NotW–similar monetary sys [...]

    10. The great city of Endra Edun once basket in a warm magical sun. Now it’s streets are freezing, and in that freezing city there is the magisterium, the headquarters of the Magisters, a powerful group of mage civil servants and also a place where they train new Magisters. In the other side of the land is a young lad named Taro. Taro isn't what you'd expect from a classic fantasy book, he isn't a goodie two shoes perfect character we are used to.Taro has to take care of his family, his parents are [...]

    11. I would honestly rate this book 3.5/5 if I could. I certainly enjoyed the world constructed in this series. Taro does make for a pretty great main character. I just felt that outside Vexis, all of the other characters were very two dimensional. Taro himself didn't seem build any sort of meaningful relationship with anyone except Kyra and Suri. And yet these two characters were barely explored in this outing. It would have been nice to see Taro build relationships So many different twists happene [...]

    12. Book one of the Arclight Saga, The Reach Between Worlds is a gritty fantasy novel with a bit of steampunk mixed in. The book follows Taro, a generally good kid who gets mixed up with bad people and does bad things to provide for his family while his parents are sick. He spends the majority of the book playing both sides, and while he does take his fair share of abuse, he ends up right as you expect him to at the end.I felt this book has a few problems:• It is in desperate need of an editor. Th [...]

    13. Not sure what genre/age group this is in officially but I would say it is a good middle grade book. Meaning from time to time you just have to roll with it, just like you had to with a more popular book series that shell not be named. If you can set aside questions of like "Why did not X give cash money to Y if Y was so critical to X plan." "would not someone of J's experience know better/be wiser after teaching for so long""what is up with these teaching methods" etc then this book might be for [...]

    14. Almost went to Hogwarts for a minuteThis book could have easily become a Harry Potter copycat. For a bit, as the magic classes and new monsters were described, I thought we actually HAD taken a side trip to Hogwarts' darker alter ego. A magical illusion that makes a room seem like the great outdoors, shifting corridors and stairways very Rowlingesque. But all of that detail turned out to be important, so all's good. The world is well imagined and easy to believe in. The magic is well done, confor [...]

    15. 4.5/5.0A combination of magical fantasy, steampunk and gritty crime novel, this genre-bending tale is bound to pique a listener’s interest. Read full review in the 2017 November issue of InD'tale Magazine.

    16. I received this book thru good read giveaway in exchange for an honest review. I'm so happy that I won this book. If your looking for a great fantasy, that's fast paced and a some good plot twists and turns look no further! This book has it all! I can't wait to get my hands on book 2!

    17. Good ReadNot as complex as I'm used to reading but the pace was awesome. Four stars for keeping me up past my bedtime :)

    18. This book, I believe, was a Facebook recommendation. I have had mixed results with those and this one falls in the disappointment category. Again, as always, anyone who is able to write a coherent novel and has the bravery to put it out there is deserving of so much respect. That said, this book didn't do it for me. I thought the plot was OK. There are your usual fantasy tropes of a young protagonist unexpectedly finding himself in a school and becoming surprisingly adept. This was twisted aroun [...]

    19. Started this last night and couldn't get past the first couple of chapters. Continuity errors alone were driving me crazy. Free book or not, I didn't think it was worth my time.

    20. The story flow is great, very hard to put down. I'm dying to get book 3, questions I need answers to. I will read anything he writes. An author to watch.

    21. First I would like to state that I received this book through the giveaway in exchange for an honest review. I would like to thank the author for giving me this opportunity and honor in being able to read this book. When I received this book I began reading it at once. It was very enjoyable read, It was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed this fantasy! The characters literally came alive on the page, both the good, as well as the villains. The main character is well written and is perfectly well blen [...]

    22. Good story, but needs better editingI enjoyed the story and characters. The overall plot was interesting and engaging, but on many occurrences better editing would make the read more enjoyable. For examples, some characters showed up with no explanations of who they were. Some scenes had characters appearing and disappear without an entrance or exit (and it wasn't because they magicked themselves in and out). Simple editing could improve these faults.

    23. I found this book to be a fantastic read! Intriguing characters, a complex, unpredictable plot, a fast pace, and it leaves you wanting more. Boom, there's your series opener. Highly recommend.

    24. A great book from young Master Hayden! Very well put together. The book has a great magic system. Characters are very real and likable. Can't wait for book 2!
