    1. I liked the book. Mankind is currently headed down this path of self-destruction as we use our natural resources up and continue to over populate and pollute our planet. Seeing a possible future unfold was interesting. It was not too gory but the author did convey the hardships that the Gaunts endured and I found myself reading the novel in two long sittings. I would read another book by this author.


    2. A fun adventure read for me.Thank you J.Z. O'Brien for a excellent adventure novel. I found it enjoyable and a great escape from life. A new fan.


    3. HopeI began the story without any expectations except to be released from everyday stress. What I found was a book with hope. One that had a positive outlook, a trust in mankind no matter what the trials were. Where some would hold on to each other in a realistic manner. Read the book and see for yourself.


    4. Surviving Abe was one of my favorite books, when I got to the part in this book where Cogan mentions a storm called Abe brewing, I had to re-read that first. Totally unnecessary for enjoyment of the book, but there are kind of Easter eggs for those who recognize characters from the previous book.The characters are not the preppers you might be used to in this type of book, they are the children of the people who survived the "crash".
