    1. Continuing from Slouch Witch, the witty slacker witch Ivy Wilde is approached by the Ipsissimus of the Order and Ivy's former partner Rafe Winters to help with an investigation into a murder on the set of a reality TV show. Enchantment is a Survivor-like reality show with magic and witches as it's gimmick. Ivy, Winter and Brutus (Ivy's brilliant asshole of a cat) are soon in the thick of things.Solid second book that maintains the light tone and humor of the first book while solving a mystery an [...]

    2. The next installment in "The lazy Girl's Guide To Magic" series is just as good as the first one. Adeptus Exemptus Winter is back, with another murder and mystery. This time it takes her to the set of Enchantment, her favourite show of all time. This book includes hallucinations, Scotts, more cats, Highlands, sheep, zombies and more magic. Another must read for anyone. The world building is kind of cool. A mix between the modern world and magic, a place where Oxford is not only a campus for stud [...]

    3. This is second in a series and you really want to read the first before this one. Most of the relationships are setup there and things will make much more sense if you have, I think.I didn't find this as enchanting as the first book, but I still enjoyed it. The biggest drawback is that Winter and Ivy aren't as together as they were in the first. They're sort of working together, but have to maintain distance for story reasons. Also, the setting doesn't work as well in this one in that the realit [...]

    4. Thank you Sharon J for recommending this book to me. This was an amazing read. I loved every minute of it. I thought this book was better than the first book. I love Ivy. She is my type of heroine. She is snarky and badass. I also loved that we got to see the Adeptus Exemptus Winter in this book, especially since there is a murder to be solved on the set on the reality tv show "Enchantment" where a contestant had mysteriously died. It also happens to be Ivy's favourite reality show, so it was fu [...]

    5. fun, fabulous, follow up that was simply enchantingIvy is still her sassy self and now has gotten herself a spot on her favorite reality TV show EnchantmentIvy had some fun interaction with the other contestants and crew. but my favorite interactions were between Winter and her; The girl definitely has a way with words. this is the kind of book that just puts a smile on your face, makes you laugh out loud, and adds a little fun to your day. i’ve already started the third book, and I’m sure k [...]

    6. The heroine in this read and her cat Brutus makes this a charming seriesI liked the first book in this series quite a bit more, but this still made for a fun read. I love our lazy, yet feisty heroine. Plus, more Brutus updates!!! There was very little in the sense of romance, but this still made for a fast paced read. I'll check out the next book in the series.

    7. So I finished these first two books of the series in two days straight. Because I simply couldn't resist.I knew this series was going to be good before I started it but I really hadn't expected it to bethatgood. I mean I can't remember the last time I had so much fun reading a book. I just love the way it's so lighthearted and so effing hilarious and as far as the plot goes it's light but that's what goes with it. It's great to have a break from heavy and mind twisting plots. Usually any editing [...]

    8. You'll never watch "Survivor" again, after reading this book. Ivy goes on (view spoiler)[the book's equivalent "Enchantment" to stop a necromancer.(hide spoiler)] Ivy is such a great character and she gets to interact with a whole new group of oddball people in this book where the location switches from Oxford to the Highlands of Scotland. My favorite character aside from the languorous Ivy is (view spoiler)[Brutus her noxious familiar(hide spoiler)]So Happy that book 3 of the trilogy is due out [...]

    9. Helen - You Naughty, Naughty Women!!! You know full well the use of a cliff hanger as a deadly weapon, whether for offense or defense, is strictly prohibited on (or it should at least be) and is punishable by 20 lashes with a wet thong!!PS in case you didn't guess I loved the book and am looking forward to the next one.

    10. I had so much fun reading this book! It reminded me of the TV show Survivor because of the reality tv vibe and the movie Miss Congeniality because of the spying viber. I'd say it's as good as the first book, maybe even better because the romance is much more pronounced this time around. If you haven't read the 1st book yet, I wrote a non-spoilery blog about the 10 Funniest Lines in Slouch Witch by Helen Harper. It should convince you to pick up this series!

    11. Ivy, the Laziest of All Witches, is still being pulled into the machinations of the Hallowed Order of Magical Enlightenment. And not just because she finds Winter hot and isn’t entirely willing to see him lead her life The Order needs a witch to investigate some possible grisly magical murders… one without official capacity. Sounds like a job for the talented Ivy - especially since the murder is happening on the set of her favourite reality TV show.We return to Ivy and our completely non-her [...]

    12. “You’re the laziest person I’ve ever met, Ivy Wilde”The second book of The Lazy Girl's Guide to Magic series was just as good as I hoped it would be. It was full of humor, magic, unexpected developments, some romance and, of course, lots of laziness. So, Winter hadn't reached out to Ivy since their night together, and no matter what Ivy's telling herself, it hurts. And then, he has the gals to show up on her doorsteps with the Ipsissimus in tow, saying that the Order needs her help in sol [...]

    13. Reviewed by Whitney@Shooting Stars ReviewsIvy wants Winter to contact her after their last meeting didn't seem to go so well. But when he does come to her it isn't for a personal reason it is for a job. She will do what she can to help especially after she starts getting strange vibes off of Winter about her laziness. Plus, she will have to work on the set of her favorite show, be around Winter, and try to solve a murder. She can do this, and it will be easy, so she thinks. This book was utterly [...]

    14. Fabulous continuation of the series. I really like Ivy. She is snarky and smart and forthright and and and I laugh when reading these books. She has a unique way of looking at things, and likes to posit her theories. Sometimes she is wrong, but it is always humorous. Brutus is a brilliant cat. I love how he is playing Ivy. I hope that one day she figures it out. Kinda funny that Rafe hasn't told her. This book contains the the countryside of Scotland, sheep, locals, magic, hallucinations, death, [...]

    15. I received this book from Helen Harper, the author, in exchange for a review, but this is my honest opinion. I just loved this book! Ivy Wilde, an independent witch, is hired by the Hallowed Order of Magical Enlightenment to help them solve their latest case. As Ivy did, I questioned why they wanted to use Ivy and not one of their own witches, but this mission is a secret one of sorts. Ivy is to infiltrate her favourite TV show of all time to work out what or who killed a member of the reality p [...]

    16. Star Witch by Helen Harper a magical five-star read. This is the second book in The Lazy Girl’s guide to magic, and Ivy Wilde is one hell of a Lazy Witch. (In the best way possible) I am a huge Helen Harper fan and have waited for a couple of books in the series to come out so I can read them together so I don’t end up doing what I did with the previous series (The Highland Magic series) where I may or may not depending if my boss see’s this have called in sick to read the latest book. Ivy [...]

    17. Ivy Wilde had to lose a lot of lounging around and sleeping in this book. She became a (view spoiler)[ contestant on her favorite tv show for the Order. Of course Rafe was there, being as stand-offish as ever. First being a runner for the show, and then taking the spot of a contestant, Ivy shows off much more of her magical skills. The Ipsissimus steps in and asks the ultimate sacrifice of Ivy to keep Winter safe. Of course, she does and we're left hanging wondering how Ivy fairs and what Winter [...]

    18. Like the first book, this is a fast, fun read! The plot is very cozy-mystery-like and Winter takes a backseat to the mystery (the romance evolves very satisfyingly, though). I thought it was going to be a four star read but I really missed the interactions between Ivy and Winter and it definitely needed more cat. All the cat. Brutus, please come live with me. I have food.

    19. Seriously this character is hilarious. While I'm not sure I felt satisfied by the 'Who one it?' answer it was logical enough and the rest of the book good enough that I didn't really care. Brutus really shines in this one too so be prepared for some funny cat antics.

    20. I liked this book 3.5 stars. The main character's are very likable, fun and good humored. The chemistry between the two main character's is very good. I have liked some of the other books/series by this author and will continue with the series.

    21. SOOOO GOODThis is by far one of my favorite urban fantasy series. Helen Harper really outdid herself with this one! From the three dimensional characters to the engaging writing and plot, this is a story that is meant to be reread and serialized!

    22. Helen Harper's second book is amazing. I couldn't stop reading this one. Lots of action and a great ending. Ready for book 3. Btw, Brutus the cat took the cake again.

    23. This was really good. I had no idea who the bad guy was, which is pretty unusual.Ivy is basically stalking Rafe Winter, when the Order offers her a chance to get up close & personal to her favourite reality show "Enchantment". They are filming a survivor type show in the Scottish Highlands. But what the Order don't tell her is that Necromancy is in the air. Lots of suspects, clues all over the place, lots of Ivy trying to skive off work, and zombies, and Winter hanging around trying to work [...]

    24. Really enjoying this series. Ivy is a bit bored just being a taxi driver so is happy to help out when The Order asks her to go undercover on her favorite show to make sure the recent death isn't magic related. She starts as a runner and soon learns there are all sorts of secrets on the set. Rafe is the area, but the show doesn't want The Order around.I really like Ivy, Rafe and cat Brutus. They are a good team. The new setting and characters are really interesting. And the mystery was good. Look [...]

    25. This was fun and the mystery aspect was interesting. There wasn't much development in the relationship of Winter and Ivy, but a decent amount and some fairly monumental things did occur. Can't wait for the final book!
