    1. This is the first book in the "Raise the Flag" series. The author does NOT pull punches. While this is the first book of the series, it deals with some extremely heavy subject matter. The book is told from Tobey's point of view. She's a PK, president of the junior class, track runner, on the board of dances (etc.). She does a lot. It's the day of "See You At the Pole" - an annual thing where kids meet on school campuses to pray around the flagpole. She's done it the past couple years - and nobod [...]
