    1. This darling book is about a cow who has a bad day and gets really angry and lets his anger cause him to have some behaviors that get him into trouble. Then his grandfather sits down with him and teaches him how to calm down when the anger stirs inside him. I especially like the visuals that they give in this book. Sometimes if Nakyla is angry, we walk through the steps in the book (putting glitter into water and watching it settle), but we pretend to do it since I don't have a big bowl for glit [...]

    2. Plot: BWriting: BVocabulary: ALevel: EasyRating: PGIllustrations: BWorldview: Don't let frustration and anger consume you, or more pain will ensue.Dr. Koby, a translator and professor, just read this to me while I was on a break from my reception desk, LOL. It makes for a good bedtime story, and may be of some help to those children who tend to wind up into a ball of negative energy.

    3. I have to say that this books is for adults too !!! Will definitely buy it when I have a child or as a gift for parents ! This time I read it just for me :)

    4. I had to read this book because the cover and title are just too great. It was a cute little story. I liked the grandpa acknowledged all the things that happened to Moody Cow that made him angry instead of try to tell him he didn't need to be mad about it. The sparkle angry thought jar is also a great idea!

    5. What a great book. We did this in our yoga/craft/meditation class. It was perfect, as the craft went along perfectly with the book. We have some very active children in this class. They all calmed down and listened attentively to this book.

    6. Lovely kid friendly book on managing anger through meditation. Straight forward text, relatable situations, and engaging illustrations make this a fine teaching tool to learn meditation. The instruction on how to make a meditation jar at the end were a perfect way to encourage kids to make meditation a daily practice.

    7. Looking forward to reading this book to my kids' yoga class next week. It's so awesome because we are making glitter jars!

    8. This is a children's picture book that entertains while teaching anger management and meditation to the grade school and younger set. The story is an engaging take on Peter the cow's really bad day. Along the way we see how his actions and anger contribute to his bad day, making it possible to discuss this with young children. Enter Peter's grandfather with a simple meditation exercise to help keep the moody cow away. In the end of the book, there are instructions on how to repeat the exercise o [...]

    9. Our class of rising second graders loved this book. We had several students who were working with anger issues, but the entire class related to Peter (or should I say Moody Cow) and his bad day. After the read aloud, we created glitter bottles of our own, and students enthusiastically participated. Days later, one student told me he had gotten angry at home, and used his bottle to help calm down. There is some violence, so be prepared to edit as needed to suit your classroom.

    10. The illustrations are abstract and modern. The main character goes to school and rides a skateboard. The meditation technique described is very practical for even little kids (except the gong). I was also excited by the craft tie-in at the end. I am definitely putting this book at the center of a lesson early in our PreK-2nd grade religion class this year.

    11. If you teach Social Emotional Learning in the classroom or to your children this book is fantastic. I use a curriculum in the classroom, Mind Up, and this book is right on for the first unit. It's an awesome representation of how we can name our frustrations, settle our minds and be aware of our impact on our world. I plan to read the others in the series now!

    12. Moody Cow, whose name used to be Peter, had a very bad day in which he became angrier than he ever had been before. Grandpa helps him clear his mind and settle his anger. Craft instructions included in the back! Good for storytime for older kids. Too long for the little ones.

    13. 3.5 stars. This book is great for people who have anger but I'm not sure its my favorite. Its about a cow who is having a bad day. His grandfather comes to his house and helps him calm down by using a jar as his mind and glitter as his anger.

    14. This book was a great way to introduce our essential question on mindfulness. It explores how to be mindful of your emotions and use this mindfulness to make good choices about your behavior. It is also a great way to introduce the concept of glitter bottles which our students loved creating!

    15. This book was not the best. Some of the pictures were confusing/almost disturbing. The glitter jar is a great idea, and the way it was presented here is the best part of the book. However, it isn't able to make up for the confusing/wordy beginning.

    16. I read this book to both my kids and then made the meditation jar at the end. It was a really good and effective project to illustrate dealing/coping/ (and letting go) with anger and other negative emotions. My 8 year old really seemed to relate and grasp the concept.

    17. My review, I am 8 years old.I love this book because ummm it helps me calm down when I'm very very mad!!!! I want to make the angry jar with my mom.

    18. Nice way to introduce children to meditation. This cow had a bad day and found the ability to calm his emotions through visual meditation.

    19. I got this book by cosmic chance. My son loves it! I read it to my kids energy class and it was a huge hit! Thank you!
