    1. A fun and catchy rhyming scheme adds to the deliciousness of a typical summer day. The bright and celebratory illustrations add to the overall connotation of a summer day. Used for Dream Big: READ! Summer storytime: July, 2012.

    2. Lyrical and pleasant, with simple, appealing illustrations, this was a surprisingly enjoyable book to read. With a multi-ethnic cast of kids and a rhyme scheme that evokes all the wonders of summer, this is a book that is easy to recommend.

    3. This story follows along a group of children while they explore all the wonders of summer. From the flowers blooming, baseball games, trips to the beach, and the all important ice cream truck, this book along with its vivid and colorful illustrations is a great book to introduce young readers to the different aspects of summer. The repetitive nature of the text makes it a great read for readers who are just beginning to emerge and to students who are English language learners.

    4. A really lovely book in rhyme about experiencing summer from the perspective of four little friends. A patron came in and asked for this and that was how I came to read it - I should be asking people for their recommendations more often!Used in pop-up storytime 7/19/2016

    5. This book is really not about the words but the illustrations. It start off with a white brother and sister and later they meet a black brother and sister. Throughout the book we play together and at the end go their separate ways. It shows you the friendship is blind especially at that age.

    6. Loved the lyrical nature of the text (think "A rose is a rose is a rose") and Madelyn loved it too!

    7. Age: Infant - PreschoolSeason: SummerA definite celebration of summer without a story. Repetitious rhyming and vocabulary reinforcement.

    8. This is a good book for teaching sentence structure;subject, verb, direct object. This would also be a good book for teaching Nouns. Another good introduction into teaching about the seasons.

    9. I lvoe anything illustrated by Sophie Blackall. I esp. liked the simple, repetitive and lyrical text. Nice, easy, breezy summer picture book.

    10. I liked the book, it's a good book to show repetition and rhyming. It was a good book for emerging students to read, not many hard words in it. This is a good book to merge into poems with.

    11. After reading this it makes me want summer! This book would be a great concept book to learn about summer. I love the illustrations in the book!
