    1. i read this in 2010 and gave it four stars. read yesterday - January 2018 - and thought it deserved only two. the positive [art of the book is all the advertising copy of future kitchens. not really anything awe inspiring, i grew up w/half of what is shown. the negative to the book is the editorial, the captions are placed randomly as often as not they don't match the photo and the writing is not interesting.

    2. Oh my god, I love this book. I may be the only person who watches Tom and Jerry for the 1950s-style backgrounds. Being born in 1979, the “good old days” fascinate me, especially the fact that a “Deluxe Model Deep Freeze” with 12 ½ cubic feet of storage was $424.50 in 1953. With inflation that’s over $3,700 today! This is great to reminisce, or to show younger generations what the American Dream looked like.
